MYTH: “I don’t need to worry about getting recruited until I’m a junior or senior”
CAPTIONS:
“A myth about recruiting is, “I don’t need to worry about getting recruited until I’m a junior or senior.”
Athletes that wait too long to start their recruiting can be left behind or miss out on opportunities that would’ve been there if they had started sooner.
A common question I get from athletes and parents is, “How early should we start?”
I always say, “The sooner the better” and it’s better to be a little early than too late. Now, I’m not saying 5th grade, but recruiting questionnaires can be sent to athletes as early as 7th grade, depending on the sport.
Each sport and division has varying contact dates on when they can reach out to athletes, so it’s best to be on those coach’s radars before those dates come up so when those dates do up, you are more likely to get contacted by those schools.”
