MYTH: “Colleges have contacted my coach, so I’m being recruited”

CAPTIONS:

“A myth about recruiting is, ‘Colleges have contacted my coach, so I’m being recruited.’

Oftentimes, one of the first steps a college coach will take is to contact your coach to find out more information about you. But, if that coach hasn’t contacted you — if NCAA rules allow — or they haven’t seen you play in person, then you are a long ways away from getting recruited by that school.

Remember, college coaches aren’t recruiting your coach. They’re recruiting you. If they are interested in you, they will get in touch with you.”
