Evaluations

2027 PG Ryan McGrath from New York is an elite guard in the state. He has been starting on his varsity basketball team since 8th grade. The 6-1 guard can do it all from shooting, handling the ball under pressure, tough finishes around the basket and great passing to his teammates. He’s also a lockdown defender!   Ryan already reached 1,000 career points and he’s only a junior. He’s a true player in this area. Ryan has a ton of potential and skills to play for many programs throughout the country. He also handles his business off the court with a 3.0 GPA. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Ryan

I am Ryan McGrath, a 2027 point guard from Adirondack Central High School in upstate New York. I’m a 3-sport varsity athlete (also football & baseball). My desire after high school is to major in Business and play basketball. During my junior year (26.8 points/game, 6 rebounds/game, 5 assists/game, 4.5 steals/game), I reached 1,000 career points, was named Conference Player of the Year and made the New York All-State 4th Team.   Out of school season, I play spring AAU basketball for Mohawk Valley Elite 16U. In school, this year I’m taking Advanced English. Next year, I will begin taking dual-credit courses, earning college credits in high school. One thing that sets me apart from other strong athletes is I have strong sports IQ. I often have my basketball coach ask me what plays to do, what defense to be in, etc. I study my own film to learn what I can do better or differently, but I also watch my opponents so I’m fully prepared going into each game.   Overall, I feel I have the athletic ability and sports knowledge that will allow me to be successful at the collegiate level. I am eager to hear from you.
