Evaluations

5-foot-5, 110 pounds. Bats L/slaps. Throws R. OF. Very fast (2.61 home to 1st & 5.83 home to 2nd ON CONTACT, verified at Midwest Fastpitch Showcase, both tops at the event). With speed and strong bunting skills, often gets on base by bunting. Excellent leadoff hitter. Can power slap, soft slap to 2nd if the bunt is taken away or push it to the OF. Bunting is her strongest skill at the plate. Will swing away with runners on. Gets good extension and makes good contact. Rarely strikes out. Can hit to all fields. Working to improve confidence even more on what strategy to take at the plate. In the OF, has good fundamentals and rarely makes errors. Utilizes speed and a good path to get to many balls others wouldn’t. Not afraid to dive for balls. Working to improve arm strength (58 mph OF). Strong work ethic. Self-motivated. Works out three times a week to improve arm strength. Will watch YouTube videos on softball, works out at home with high-intensity workouts (30-45 minutes). Gets in extra work by herself most days. Has own cage with a pitching machine to get work in at home. How long she practices at home depends on how she’s performing. If something is off, she’ll work on it, even if it takes hours, to correct it. Has private lessons and coaching. Excellent student (3.9 GPA with Honors classes).

Kally has been a softball player for the Kaukauna Softball program for the past 8 years.  She is a tremendous athlete that has every personality and character trait to not only be successful on the field, but also to be successful in any endeavor she chooses off the field.  Kally represents one of those very rare athletes that has been blessed athletically while also developing and perfecting attributes that make her a leader and someone that will always make those around her better athletes and more importantly better people. On the field, Kally is a one-of-a-kind athlete that has always dedicated herself to be the best physically so she can perform above and beyond her personal expectations and those of her teammates and coaching staff.  She has been a key figure in making Kaukauna Fastpitch one of the best programs in the Midwest and has allowed our small city to compete at the highest levels.  Kally has and will always be one of those athletes that ensure everyone is focused on the goal at hand. Her dedication, drive and enthusiasm for success are all second to none. Off the field, Kally has always displayed high moral conduct and virtues. The same leadership skills Kally displays on the field are also very evident in the classroom and all of the co-curricular activities she is involved in.  Kally is always striving to be the best, and she again has the personality and vision to make those around her better students and more importantly better people. Kally is an excellent example of what young student athletes should aspire to be. She is known for displaying integrity, class and leadership in all of her endeavors at Kaukauna High School.

— Tim Roehrig, Kaukauna H.S. coach

I have known Kally for about 1 year now while she has played for the Bandits organization during that time. She is one of the most dedicated players we have had in our program in the last few years. She is hard-working, energetic, dynamic and a pleasure to be around and to coach. This past year, I have had the pleasure to be her travel ball coach on a great summer schedule that took us around the country to play softball. We were very successful and Kally was a major part of our success. She is one of the best outfielders that we have had in our program. She is a clutch performer and comes through time and time again when you need her. Kally is just a very gifted athlete in the sport of fastpitch softball. As a person, Kally is even better than I have described above. She is dedicated, motivated and loyal to the program. She is always there when you need her. Kally has the ability to make her teammates better and she always does it with a smile on her face. Kally would be an asset to any program or organization that she feels she would like to be apart of. Kally is what a student-athlete should be — smart and hard-working.

Message from Kally

My name is Kally Meredith, and I am a 5-foot-5, 110-pound 2023 outfielder at Kaukauna High School in Wisconsin. My GPA is a 3.9 (unweighted). I am a slapper and have a home-to-first time off contact of 2.61 seconds. I use my speed and slapping abilities to get on base. I am currently playing for the Beverly Bandits Premier Allen 18U. During my sophomore season, I batted .500 in the leadoff spot, made 1st-Team All-State and we won the Division 1 state title. During my club season in 2020-21 with the Wisconsin Bandits 16U Gold, I batted .466 with a .520 OBP and 64 stolen bases in 83 games. I read the defense and take what they give me, whether it is a soft slap, power slap, drag bunt or my stand and hit. I can place the ball, not only on the left side but pulling it with me, when I need to get myself on base.

Softball takes up most of my time, considering I practice almost every day. I work out with a trainer once a week during season and three times a week off-season, I hit at my batting cage every day with my dad and have practices outside of my club team. I have taken honors classes and have achieved high honors. I was member of ski club and enjoyed going to my school’s sports games. Outside of school and sports, I like to coach younger kids in figure skating and softball and babysit.

Thank you for taking the time to read more about me. I am excited to get to know you and your school.
