2027 Valley High School guard Jalen Dunham is a name to lookout for. As a sophomore, he started on varsity but his season was cut short due to an injury. He is fully recovered now. Jalen had a strong AAU season for Midwest Basketball Club and had productive showings at different showcases as well. He’s a nice point guard with a mix of toughness and skill. Has a very nice shot from midrange and deep 3s.
Jalen utilizes solid ball handling and can get to the basket – finishing strong – and knows how to control himself with a smooth floater to finish over bigger defenders. What really impressed me was his passing ability, because being a strong right-handed player, a lot of his dimes to open/slashing teammates were with his left hand.
He shows great leadership and communication on the floor both offensively and defensively. I’m looking forward to seeing Jalen really explode and take over during his junior year and make a name for himself. He could easily average 20 PPG with his style. He also handles business off the court with a 4.0 GPA!

A prospect who stood out at our Expo Showcase this fall, Dunham had a big junior season for Lucasville Valley. Scoring 26 points against conference leader Wheelersburg shows that Dunham can get it done against top teams in the region. Dunham can make shots on the perimeter and is confident scoring at the rim in transition. Regional small college programs should take a look at Dunham this summer, either at grassroots events or prospect showcases. Dunham never turns down an opportunity to compete!
