3 key things to know about the NCAA Transfer Portal

CAPTIONS:

“The NCAA Transfer Portal has changed transferring dramatically.

Before, athletes likely would have to sit out a year before they could play at their new school.

Now, athletes can play right away, which has increased the number of athletes transferring vastly.

A few key things to keep in mind regarding the Transfer Portal:

1) It’s only for NCAA athletes.
2) The Portal windows only apply to D1 athletes and are when they can enter the Portal, NOT when they can transfer to another school.
3) If you decide to transfer, know that you likely have no chance to return to play at your current school because coaches don’t want players who don’t want to be on their team.”
