Why receiving a questionnaire doesn’t mean you’re getting recruited yet

CAPTIONS:

“Questionnaires are forms colleges ask athletes to fill out to provide athletic and academic info about them.

They can be sent to athletes as early as 7th or 9th grade, depending on the sport. College coaches send questionnaires to hundreds or possibly thousands of athletes and oftentimes send them as a test to see which athletes are interested in their school.

Athletes that don’t return the questionnaire get crossed off the college’s recruit list because the college coach doesn’t want to waste their time recruiting athletes who aren’t interested in their school.

Receiving a questionnaire means the college knows you exist, but you are a long ways away from receiving a scholarship offer.”
