Ben Armstrong, who lives in Ashland, Neb., is a former college football player and a long-time football coach. Ben played football at Peru State College, competing at the NAIA level. He later earned his degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Immediately following his playing career, Ben transitioned into coaching, where he found his true calling. Ben has more than 15 years of youth football coaching experience and has built a reputation for developing young athletes both on and off the field. He currently serves as head coach of the 6th grade Football University (FBU) Nebraska All-Star tackle team and is the head coach for NE Select7 12U 7v7 football, leading the program to three championships.
A graduate of Pius X High School in Nebraska, Ben was a key contributor to back-to-back Class B State football championships during his junior and senior seasons. In addition to football, he was a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer and track and field. Years later, his high school football team was inducted into the school’s hall of fame, solidifying their legacy.
Ben is passionate about mentoring young athletes and helping them maximize their potential. His mission is to push players to be their best, achieve their goals and ultimately earn opportunities to compete at the collegiate level. Nothing brings him more pride than seeing his athletes succeed.
Ben lives in Ashland with his wife, Ashley, a former college basketball player at Hastings College. Together, they are raising two competitive athletes of their own—Hunter, who plays football and basketball, and Hadley, who competes in basketball, soccer and softball. The Armstrong family also includes two dogs, Dixie and Huk, and two cats, Chief and Ozzy.
