Evaluations

Tianna Gonzalez, a standout center fielder with a 3.7 GPA and numerous academic accolades, exemplifies the qualities top NCAA programs seek in a recruit. Her physical attributes set her apart – she possesses exceptional range in the outfield, driven by her quick footwork, agility and unparalleled tracking ability off the bat. Tianna’s arm strength and accuracy are elite, enabling her to make game-saving plays, such as throwing runners out at home from deep center field without the need for a cut. She is fearless in her approach, routinely diving for balls and showing an uncanny ability to make crucial catches and execute double plays. Her versatility is underscored by her experience in both the outfield and infield, where her polished backhand, forehand, and double-play skills shine. At the plate, Tianna is a selective power hitter who adapts her approach to the team’s needs, consistently driving runners forward and delivering in clutch situations. Her speed, honed through flag football experience, makes her a constant threat on the bases and allows her to cover significant ground defensively.   Beyond her physical talents, Tianna’s intangibles elevate her into a league of her own. Her leadership is evident in her command of the outfield, where both teammates and coaches trust her to take charge. Known as a “ball hog” for her relentless pursuit of plays, Tianna thrives under pressure, often stepping up when the team needs her most. Her work ethic, coachability, and understanding of the game provide her with a strong foundation to excel at the collegiate level. Tianna’s team-first mentality and natural ability to foster chemistry make her an asset to any program. With her athleticism, strategic mindset, and unwavering commitment to improvement, Tianna Gonzalez is a top-tier candidate who will undoubtedly make a significant impact on any college roster. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Softball Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215

Message from Tianna

My name is Tianna Gonzalez, and I play for Lathrop High School in California. I am a 2027 recruit primarily playing OF/Utility, and I have a 3.75 GPA. I believe what makes me stand out is that I’m a great teammate and I take good sportsmanship to the next level. I do not bad mouth other teams, coaches or players, and I do my best to remain humble. I make it a point to succeed in the classroom and I’ve received a Silver Award from my school, which is given to students who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. I have also received three WAC (Western Athletic Conference) Scholar-Athletic patches as well as an All-Conference patch. I have received the Outstanding Character Award from my elementary school, a 1st-Team All-League award for softball, and a multi-sport athlete award for both softball and flag football during high school. My latest awards include the Rookie of the Year award and the Spartan Award, both representing good sportsmanship, team leadership, and being an outstanding player.   I also feel that I’m a very coachable player. I take coach’s and my fellow teammates’ advice, working on the techniques they give me to better my skills. I also find ways to work on my softball skills outside of scheduled practices/tournaments. My workouts include hitting off the tee, going to the batting cage, working on my hand/eye coordination, additional field work, and most importantly my mental health. I typically work out 5 days a week, not including double days for flag football.   Thank you for reading my message. I hope in the future you can watch me play and get to know me!
