Soren Smedley

Soren Smedley (2027) is a 6-1, 190-pound WR/FS from Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, California. Holds a 4.34 GPA (International Baccalaureate Program, Dual-Enrollment at Santa Barbara Community College). With his frame, Soren can play WR, Slot & Free Safety at the next level. His main focus is dominating wherever you put him on the field. He’s a block-first receiver who takes pride in clearing way for his teammates. He’s a very flexible player.   Soren is a great route runner who can open the lid of the secondary whenever needed. He’s able to stop on a dime and has massive hands bringing his catching ability above par. His main strength is blocking (very strong repping 245 on bench, lower body is similar being able to front squat almost 300). He fights for every yard regardless of any number of tacklers on him. Soren is a coach’s dream on special teams, being able to engage and pursue blocks taking on all contact.   The main area I see for improvement is his mobility and quickness at his size. Soren will need to utilize these tools to improve his production. He still gives good looks during screens or run attacks blocking to the whistle.   I have trained with Soren over the past year, and I can honestly say he is a different athlete from when we first started. He’s hungry and plans to leave it all on the field this season. He was awarded Most Improved Player on his team last fall.
