Evaluations

Shea Scott is a strong student-athlete with a 3.8 GPA, whose academic excellence provides a solid foundation for college baseball. Athletically, Shea is a versatile defender with experience at catcher, shortstop, pitcher and center field, currently showing his greatest confidence at shortstop and on the mound. He demonstrates advanced baseball knowledge, allowing him to read the game quickly and react instinctively. His athletic metrics include a 5.6-second 40-yard dash and a 67 mph throwing velocity (August 2025), with a stated goal of reaching 85 mph by age 16. Shea trains 2–3 additional days per week outside team practices, using a home cage for tee work, live hitting, bullpens and daily defensive repetitions.   Shea’s intangibles elevate him as a high-upside prospect. He competes with maturity and composure, resetting quickly after adversity by refocusing and adjusting with intent. He’s highly coachable, self-aware and committed to improving consistency across all areas of his game. Shea has competed multiple times with Baseball Life Elite (BLE), including tournaments in Arizona and Kamloops, and earned Top Hitter/Pitcher honors at a BLE baseball camp, underscoring his ability to perform at a high level. His work ethic, mental resilience, competitive drive and positional versatility make Shea a compelling candidate for college-level baseball and continued long-term development. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215

Message from Shea

My name is Shea Scott and I am a 2031 recruit, currently attending Shuswap Middle School in Salmon Arm, BC, Canada. I am 5’10” and 140 lbs. I split my primary positions between catcher and shortstop, and I’m also a starting pitcher. My GPA is roughly a 3.6 (as we don’t receive formal grades yet). I’m in French Immersion and on track to graduate with a dual-language diploma.   My baseball IQ and athleticism are my strongest characteristics. I study every part of the game, from hitting mechanics and footwork to game strategy and player stats. I am also an umpire, which gives me great perspective and respect for both sides of the plate.   Outside of practices, I throw almost every day and hit regularly. I stretch several times a week. I stay active in the offseason by playing volleyball, basketball and rock climbing. I’m a leader on and off the field, and this year I was named captain of my basketball team. I also volunteer at the rock climbing gym, helping with camps and supporting staff on busy days. For fun I like to ski and golf.   I am just at the start of my competitive baseball journey, but my goal is clear: to play baseball while attending college and earn my education at the same time. I’m committed to improving every day and contributing to a team that values hard work. Thank you for considering me for your program.
