Evaluations

2027 forward/attacking mid. 5-foot-5, 130 pounds. Very fast. Scorer (10 goals during freshman season on varsity at large school). Can create own shot and opportunities on the side or can cut in. Can shoot outside the box. Shoots well to corners. Right-footed. Uses speed to get past defenders (tap around and beats in foot race). Strong with right and left (right stronger). Strong at cross passes to find open teammates. Excellent defensive player (gets back and defends). Working to improve on shooting more often (more confidence and not hesitating), technical skills and footwork. Communicates well with teammates. Excellent student (3.9 GPA). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com   Marley plays all 3 positions of attack for us (9, 7, 11). She is very successful at all 3 positions with right wing being her best position for us. Marley is a joy to coach and is eager to challenge herself. She takes coaching well and is a fierce competitor who does not like to lose. She is one of those special players that the game just comes easy to. Speed: Marley has top-end speed with and without the ball. Quickness: Marley has the ability to beat defenders with or without the ball in the first 5 yards consistently. Aggressiveness: Marley is a competitor and enjoys playing defense and offense. She works tirelessly with and without the ball. Strength: Marley has played a year up for us and still easily beats defenders using her strength, quickness, skill and speed. Ball Handling:  Marley has one of the best first touches I have seen. She controls the ball out of the air or on the ground the same. When she is attacking with the ball on the run, she has the ability to unbalance the defender, recognize that and take advantage of it while at full speed. Passing/Positioning: Marley has great field vision, which allows her to play dangerous balls to her teammates. She has a great sense of time and space and how to utilize those to her advantage. Finishing: When the ball is inside the 18 and she gets a chance to score, you can count on the goal. Communication: Marley is a wonderful teammate that leads by example and vocally. She is energetic and very positive and supportive with her teammates. Marley brings an infectious energy with her every day in training and to matches. — Dusty Rhodes, WI United FC Director of Coaching

Message from Marley

My name is Marley Wreath, and I am a 2027 from Appleton East High School in Wisconsin. I am 5-foot-5 and 135 pounds, and I’m a forward/ attacking mid with a strong ability to create scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates. As a freshman, I was named 2nd-Team All-Conference, scoring 10 goals. Academically, I have a 3.93 GPA, and while I am still exploring career options, I am passionate about learning and challenging myself both on and off the field.   What sets me apart as a player is my speed, technical ability and creativity in the attack. I am lightning fast and thrive on making defenders miss, using my quick feet and sharp movement to create space. One of my biggest strengths is my ability to see the field and deliver perfectly timed crosses and through balls to setup my teammates for success. I love the dynamic nature of the game – constantly thinking, adjusting and making plays that help my team.   Beyond the field, I take the same approach to my academics as I do to soccer – with focus, discipline and a hunger to improve. I love to learn and push myself in the classroom, whether it’s taking on challenging coursework or diving deeper into subjects that interest me. I also dedicate time to volunteering with disabled children, both at school and in my community, something that has given me a greater appreciation for the impact sports and mentorship can have.   Above all, I just love the game of soccer. The competition, the strategy and the teamwork is what drives me to train, to study the game and to keep getting better every single day. I am always working on refining my technique, increasing my speed and agility and sharpening my decision-making, both in training and in-game situations. Whether it’s extra reps after practice, working on my finishing, or analyzing game film, I genuinely enjoy the process of improvement.   Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. Soccer has been such a huge part of my life, and I am beyond excited for the opportunity to play at the next level. I know that college soccer will push me both as an athlete and as a student, and I welcome that challenge with open arms. I would love the opportunity to learn more about your program and how I can contribute.
