Evaluations

5-foot-2, 130 pounds. OF/MIF. R/R. A true utility player (plays OF and multiple positions in the infield). Athletic with excellent footwork (also has been a figure skater for many years). Utilizes drag bunt to get on base (3.02 home-1st). Very quick swing (0.13 time to contact, 24.2 rotational acceleration, 21.6 hand speed, 68 mph exit, 61.8 bat speed). Consistent swing (85% on plane). Level swing results in mostly singles/doubles. Keeps bat in zone and has good timing vs. fast or slower pitchers. Mostly a pull hitter. Waits on changeups. Patience at plate leads to a lot of walks, but also not afraid to swing at the first pitch. Working on mentality when behind in the count and using legs more to generate more power. Good arm from the OF (58 mph, can throw to bases on 1/no hop). Loud and talks a lot. Tracks ball well, good transition and good range (not afraid to dive). Working to improve confidence when gets close to the fence and overall arm strength. At 2B, has quick feet to turn double plays. Great game awareness. Very loud teammate. Strong work ethic (involved in several other activities, has a job all while maintaining strong grades, 3.9 GPA with AP classes). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com

Message from Maddie

My name is Maddie Schwab, and I am a 2025 graduate at Hudson High School in Wisconsin. At school, I am the Class of 2025 President and a member of both the Spanish and National Honor Societies. I co-lead a club for mental health awareness, while being involved in SADD, Women in Stem and Peer Helpers. While being very active in my school, I maintain a 3.9 GPA. During the club season, I play for the Minnesota Waves out of Burnsville, MN. I am a 5-foot-2 utility player (outfield and middle infield) who’s quick on the bases, and I hit to all fields for contact (0.13 time to contact, 24.2 rotational acceleration, 68 exit). Along with softball, I have been figure skating for the past 13 years. I am a bronze medalist in Moves in the Field, and compete in Freestyle 7 and Intermediate Freeskate. In college, I want to major in Data Science and Analytics with a Sports Business minor.   What makes me standout is I’m one of the loudest on the field, and I keep my high energy up the entire game. I love softball and I show this through my actions, putting in the extra work after practice and conditioning after school. I am working out as much as I can, which is typically 4-5 times a week while balancing a job, school work, another sport and extracurriculars. Being so busy has made me better at my time management skills, especially while taking four AP courses this year (Statistics, Seminar, U.S. History and Biology).   Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and I hope we can talk soon!
