Evaluations

2028 PG Kiera Thomas from Immanuel High School (CA). After watching her play a couple games, she really impressed me with her maturity. She does not play like a sophomore, more like a well-polished senior guard. Has the leadership and poise as a ball handler and does not get sped up; plays at a great pace. Really does a nice job on her stop and go hesitation blow by move to get past defenders and get downhill for a finish or kick out. Her team is having a really good season with a 26-4 record as she is leading them. I like Kiera’s 3-way scoring ability of finishing at the basket, pull-up jumpers and catch-and-shoot 3s from deep.   She has a high IQ and knows when to attack the basket or drop it off to her big down low when the defense collapses. Kiera is lightning fast, beats everyone down the court on the break and puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Does a great job looking up the court on the break to start the offense. She has nice shooting form and showed multiple games of hitting back-to-back 3 point shots and even taking a few heat-check shots because she can light up the scoring board fast.   Kiera’s defense is solid and puts a lot of pressure on the top of the press and on-ball pressure for guards. She grabs many steals due to her speed, hustle and tenacity on defense. Kiera also excels in the classroom holding a 4.0 GPA. Her name is sparking a lot of attention in the state of California – Coaches this is your point guard! — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617   Kiera maintains elite levels of strength, endurance, speed, agility and overall health. She adjusts quickly to changing conditions, opponents or physical challenges. She will consistently make sacrifices like diet, sleep and social life to stay focused on her goals. Her leadership often inspires teammates and elevates the group’s performance. Kiera has strong mental resilience which allows her to perform under pressure. She’s highly goal oriented and has a clear focus to improve. Adapts quickly to new challenges & competition strategies. Very consistent in mindset and work ethic. She’s very competitive – craves and thrives in high-stakes environments. Kiera is willing to learn, accepts hard coaching and feedback. — Loren LeBeau, Immanuel HS Coach

Message from Kiera

My name is Kiera Thomas, a 2028 recruit at Immanuel High School in Reedley, CA. I have a 4.0 GPA and am currently undecided on my major. I play point and shooting guard on my varsity team. During my two seasons, we’ve managed to win two straight Valley Championships in a row, starting from Division 4 to Division 3, and now in the State Division 1 playoffs. I’ve been recognized as 1st-Team All-State (D3), Central Section Player of the Year, Central Section Co-Freshman of the Year, Kings Canyon Co-MVP and the Elite Camp Anaheim MVP (Ball is Life). I finished my freshman year with 621 points and reached 1,000 points early in my sophomore season.   Academically, I have earned my California Scholarship Federation for the last semester. Some traits that I’ve acquired through the years of playing are court vision, focus, adaptability and an intrinsic drive. Competition motivates me to bring my best every day. I bring confidence, intensity and determination as I work toward my goals and strive to elevate both myself and my team.   My workout routine outside of games, travel ball and team practices has been essential in keeping me prepared and performing at my best. During the school season, I wake up at 4:50 am to train and shoot at 6 am before school, building consistency and discipline in my game. During the summer, I stay sharp through skill development, focusing on finishing and ball handling 2-3 days a week, along with weekday summer workouts that include 1 hour in the weight room followed by 2 hours of on-court skill training.   I work just as hard off the court as I do on it, maintaining a consistent 4.0 GPA while striving for excellence academically. I’ve also volunteered at multiple youth basketball camps, which has been incredibly rewarding as I share my knowledge and passion for the game with younger players. I am excited to continue my journey and grow as an athlete and leader at the next level. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
