Evaluations

2026 PG Jaiden Perry from Gillion Academy is a defensive menace! This kid reminds me of Jose Alvarado (NBA), who plays extremely hard, plays to win and does the little things to win games. Jaiden is a true point guard plays with a motor, is a great passer and makes the right plays for his team. Has a solid shot and finishes at the rim – creating problems for the defense.   Jaiden has a good handle with the basketball and does a great job using his moves to create shots for himself. My favorite part about watching this kid play is his effort on the defensive end. He makes the team’s energy go from 0-100 real quick with his steals, causing turnovers and hustle plays. Does a great job attacking the defense downhill and finishing at the basket or dishing out to open shooters. Jaiden is open to playing at any level looking for a point guard and leader. He also handles business off the court with a 3.9 GPA. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617   It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Jaiden Perry for your basketball program and institution. I had the pleasure of coaching Jaiden during his time at Forest Park High School, where he distinguished himself not only as a talented basketball player but also as a dedicated student-athlete and leader.   Jaiden played as a starting guard for our varsity basketball team, where he consistently demonstrated exceptional athleticism, strategic awareness and a relentless work ethic. His defensive prowess was unmatched – he led our team in steals and was named First Team All-District, a testament to his impact on the court and recognition by coaches across the region.   Beyond his statistics, Jaiden’s attitude and character set him apart. He approached every practice and game with humility, focus and a team-first mentality. He was often the first to arrive and the last to leave, setting a powerful example for his teammates. His leadership extended beyond the court – he volunteered in community events, supported younger athletes and maintained a strong academic record.   Jaiden’s ability to balance athletics, academics and service speaks volumes about his discipline and maturity. He is a natural leader who inspires those around him and consistently strives for excellence. I am confident that he will bring the same energy, integrity and commitment to your basketball program, campus and community. — Coach Ryan, Forest Park HS

Message from Jaiden

My name is Jaiden Perry, and I’m a 2026 guard from Gillion Basketball Academy Prep in Springfield, Virginia, where I’ve worked hard to maintain a 3.91 GPA. Basketball has been a huge part of my journey. During my senior year (12.2 points/game), I earned 2nd-Team Post Grad All-Star. During my junior year, I earned 1st-Team District, 2nd-Team All-Region and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Since my freshman year, I’ve challenged myself by taking Advanced Placement and honors courses, pushing beyond the standard curriculum because I’ve always believed in rising to meet the challenge. My top academic strengths are math and science, subjects that have always captured my curiosity and sharpened my problem-solving skills. My academics matter deeply to me, not just because of the grades, but because they represent focus, sacrifice and long-term goals. I’ve learned how to balance schoolwork, training and leadership in a way that reflects both discipline and heart.   My top strengths on the court are my grit, leadership and strong defensive presence. I pride myself on being the player who never gives up, who lifts up the team, and who brings intensity to every defensive possession. I believe in doing the hard things – diving for loose balls, locking down assignments, and showing up for my teammates even when the odds are against us.   Growing up with a military mom who’s also a single parent shaped my life in powerful ways. From an early age, I watched her balance the demands of serving her country with the responsibilities of raising a family on her own. Our life was filled with constant change – new bases, new schools and long periods of separation during deployments. It wasn’t always easy, but through it all, I learned strength, independence and what true dedication looks like. As a young man, it taught me resilience, the importance of hard work and how to adapt to whatever life brings.   Beyond academics and athletics, I’m committed to giving back. I volunteer in my community whenever I get free time because I believe in making a positive impact and supporting others – just like my mom has always supported me. Whether in the classroom, on the court or in the community, I give my all. I lead by example, stay humble and never forget where I come from. My story is still being written, but every step so far has prepared me to keep pushing, growing and striving for something greater.   Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I truly appreciate your consideration and support.
