Evaluations

Jackson is a fantastic athlete and student. He plays the goalkeeper position and commits to driving long distances to find a team more commensurate with his ambitions. I say this because it is reflective of both his commitment and work ethic. He currently projects to being an immediate competitor for programs at a mid-D2 level. Jackson has good size and speed that covers a lot of space very quickly. He has above average hand-eye coordination and is fearless in challenges both 1v1 and aerial. His distributions are both accurate and he owns the ability to reach distances 15-20 yards beyond midfield.   Jackson has a commanding presence in goal – both physically and from a leadership position with solid communication with his defenders and final 3rd adjustments to structure and possible threats. Over a number of games, I’ve seen him support his defenders after mistakes and get on them when they have dropped off standard. The players seem to respond to him in both situations, showing a developed leadership range.   His 3 qualities beyond his soccer ability are his leadership (captain for 5 years), his work rate (club trains 4x per week and he trains with a private GK coach 3-4 days), and he’s a strong student (helping programs put competitive packages together for his participation).   One of the remarkable qualities about Jackson is that he’s very self-aware. He has sought out feedback from multiple coaches, knows areas of strengths and areas for improvement, and has set a plan with his mentors to address both. This level-headed approach, when combined with his current ability, shows signs of a player who will not only compete day 1 on campus for the right program, but indicates his growth trajectory has not yet reached its pinnacle. For any coach looking to elevate the competitiveness of their program, I highly and confidently recommend Jackson Grace. — Brett Rosenberger, ScoutU Soccer Scout, 402-304-1877, Brett@ScoutU.com   Jackson is a highly reliable and talented goalkeeper who has been a key part of our team. He demonstrates excellent shot-stopping ability, quick reflexes, and strong command of his box. His distribution is a major asset – whether it’s playing short to build out of the back or striking accurate long balls to start the attack. Jackson is vocal and organized, constantly communicating with the backline and keeping the team structured defensively. In 1v1 situations, he shows bravery and composure, often making critical saves that keep us in the game.   Off the field, Jackson is mature, hardworking and coachable. He shows up consistently, works to improve every day, and sets a strong example for his teammates. With his athleticism, game awareness and mentality, I believe he has the tools to compete at the next level. Jackson is a phenomenal student-athlete, committed to bringing up his GPA and continuing to better himself to earn more opportunities to further his education. — Ramtin Amiri, Apollo U19 Coach   Shot-Stopping: Jackson displays elite reflexes and balance in his set position, consistently producing reaction saves in tight spaces. His ability to read body cues allows him to anticipate well on both low-driven and high-velocity efforts. Maintains compact form on close-range shots and positions himself effectively to reduce goal-scoring angles. Handling: Secure and confident under pressure. Demonstrates strong hands with minimal parries, routinely catching clean even in wet or high-traffic conditions. His technique when collapsing or gathering through traffic reflects advanced discipline and repetition. Diving Technique: Efficient and explosive from his set stance, using a powerful push-off and correct lead-hand engagement. Maintains full body extension while staying low and balanced – allowing him to recover quickly for second actions. Distribution: Displays a full arsenal of passing range – driven side volleys, clipped balls into wide channels, and accurate rollouts under pressure. Understands tempo management when initiating counterattacks and shows consistent accuracy from both feet. Cross Management: Commands his box with confidence. Reads flight early, positions himself aggressively and takes clean, high-point catches under contact. Uses his voice assertively to organize defenders and relieve pressure in set-piece situations. 1v1 Situations: Exceptionally composed and brave. Times his approach with patience and awareness, often staying upright to force poor decisions from attackers. Rarely over-commits, showing a professional level of poise. Tactical Awareness: Reads the game beyond his years. Positions himself intelligently to cut angles and supports his backline with clear, concise communication. Demonstrates strong understanding of when to advance off his line and when to hold space. Adjusts his positioning dynamically to maintain control of the defensive shape.   Mental and Leadership Qualities: Highly coachable, disciplined and intrinsically motivated. Leads through consistency – communicating calmly in high-pressure moments. Takes ownership after mistakes and rebounds with immediate focus. His competitive drive and maturity elevate those around him, setting the tone for a high-performance culture. Athletic Attributes: Excellent lower-body power and agility. Quick off the mark laterally and vertically, allowing him to reach difficult saves outside his frame. His strength and conditioning foundation translate directly to his explosiveness in the goalmouth. Possesses the endurance necessary for consistent performance across full-match intensity. Character & Academics: A respectful, well-spoken individual who represents his team and coaching staff with professionalism. Balances academic rigor with athletic commitment, demonstrating accountability both on and off the field. His approach to personal development is reflective of his long-term goals.   Summary: Jackson Grace is a top-level collegiate goalkeeping prospect with professional potential. His blend of technical precision, tactical intelligence and mental fortitude makes him a standout in his age group. He carries himself with the demeanor of a mature, team-first leader and has the skill set to contribute immediately at the college level. I strongly recommend Jackson Grace for recruitment and collegiate consideration. — Ormond Beach Director of Goalkeeping

Message from Jackson

My name is Jackson Grace, and I am a 2026 Goalkeeper from Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, Florida. At 5-foot-11 and 160 lbs, I am determined to play at the collegiate level. I hold a 3.2 GPA and scored 1010 on the SAT (scheduled to retake this fall). I’ve sought out several expert opinions from coaches, and all are convinced I can play at the collegiate level.   In addition to my soccer ability, I believe my leadership and work ethic are why you should strongly consider me for your program. I am a leader on and off the field. I guide my team to the best versions of themselves, and I’ve been a captain now for 4 years, which is a testimony to that ability. Additionally, I am constantly working to perform in the classroom while making the Honor Roll with many honors classes.   My work ethic is exemplified by my commitment to training in my position. I train 5 times a week for 3 hours/day. Four of those days are with my team for 1.5 hours each. I also have a high-performance goalkeeper training 3-4 times per week. I spend a lot of my spare time still circling around to soccer, as both a Florida Certified Referee and a coach for younger players in my club.   I think I’m a strong candidate on and off the field and a potential great representative for your program. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to speaking with you about this opportunity.
