Carson Samson

My name is Carson Samson. I am a 2027 graduate at West De Pere High School (WI) with a cumulative GPA of 3.6. I am 6-foot-0, 165 pounds and play both point guard and shooting guard. What makes me stand out from other players is my court vision. I consistently monitor the location of all players, which allows me to identify which teammates are open, who is near me defensively and quickly determine the best next move. I averaged 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds a game during my last AAU season and played varsity during my freshman year and sophomore years. I started my sophomore year, averaging 6.5 points with a season-high of 18 points.   My core values as a player are being supportive and prioritizing the team’s success. I look for opportunities to help our team score and can identify when I need to create offensive plays, position myself strategically or pass to teammates for the better shot. Getting to know my teammates’ playing styles allows me to anticipate their moves and enhances our non-verbal communication on the court. Beyond team activities, I participate in individual training at the shooting cages, aiming for approximately 1,000 shots per week, and attend training sessions a couple times per week and camps during the off-season. I attend events to cheer on our school, while also volunteering at various camps organized for younger players. I recognized that I really enjoy coaching, so I got a job at a basketball facility where I have the opportunity to assist with camps for ages 5-13. I balance my work, athletics and academics to ensure I have enough time to study and prepare for all classes, including my college courses I started this year, while maintaining my GPA.   Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
