Evaluations

Brooklyn Schaede is an exceptional student-athlete with a 4.4 GPA, showcasing her strong academic discipline and commitment. On the field, she brings high-level athleticism and versatility as both a pitcher and outfielder. In the outfield, she’s quick to the ball and known for her strong, accurate throws (56 mph), eliminating the need for cut-offs. A former competitive gymnast, she moves with agility and control, covering ground with ease. At the plate, Brooklyn bats RH with a 66 mph exit velocity and consistently contributes as a top-three hitter in the lineup. In the circle, she’s a confident, spin-first pitcher who locates well, hits corners and keeps hitters off-balance with late movement.   Brooklyn is coachable, competitive and focused. She handles pressure well, learns quickly, and puts in the extra work to elevate her game. As a team leader with strong game awareness and a growth mindset, she’s a reliable presence who continues to trend upward. Brooklyn is a clear fit for the demands of college softball and stands out as a serious NCAA prospect. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Softball Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215

Message from Brooklyn

My name is Brooklyn Schaede, and I’m in the 2027 class at Tokay High School in Lodi, CA. I’m 5-foot-4 and primarily play RHP (57-58 mph fastball) and OF. Academically, I have a 4.3 cumulative GPA and a PSAT score of 1170. At the moment I am considering Business and Kinesiology as possible majors for my future. I am coachable, competitive and focused. I handle pressure well, learn quickly, and put in the extra work to elevate my game. As a team leader with strong game awareness and a growth mindset, I am a reliable presence who continues to trend upward. I am a clear fit for the demands of college softball and stand out as a serious NCAA prospect.   As an athlete, I consider myself an all-out competitor, hard worker, confident and determined. I can be hard on myself sometimes, but I use that to fuel myself and, in the end, push to be better than the athlete I was the day before. Outside of practices and games, I attend hitting and pitching lessons along with working out individually. I go to a nearby facility where I have the ability and access to the gym/weightlifting area, batting cages, and fielding area. The weightlifting program has workouts written out and designed for all who are part of the program. The workouts often consist of arms, legs, core, arm care, etc. After completing these workouts, I often hit outside, inside, high/low and consistently hitting line drives. When throwing bullpens on my own (2-3 times/week), I focus on spin and hitting specific spots depending on the pitch I am throwing. I work out Monday-Friday and attend hitting lessons every week as well as pitching lessons every other week.   In school, I take both Honors/AP classes such as Honors English and Integrated Math. Along with this, I’m part of many extracurricular activities including CA Scholarship Federation (CSF), National Honor Society (NHS), National Society of HS Scholars (NSHSS) and FFA. As a member of NHS, it’s required that we complete community service hours and so far, I have completed about 26 hours in the first semester. I take my academics and ability to learn everyday very seriously. As a student-athlete, the aspect of being a student is my number-one priority, so I have the ability to be the athlete that I am.   Thank you Coach for taking time out of your day to read my essay, as I know that the recruiting process can often be both difficult and busy. I hope to connect with you in the future.
