Angelina Giordano plays dual roles as a reliable, focused shooting guard and point guard. Tenacious disposition and demonstrates leadership on the court calling plays. Can handle pressure as a point guard and looks for open teammates, but she’s also confident to drive through traffic to the basket. A fearless competitor with excellent ball handling skills and use of her left hand. Great speed and awesome defensively, especially pressing guards down the court, forcing turnovers. Skillfully takes oncoming charges with strong defensive position. Strong when rebounding and boxing out. Consistent perimeter shooter from the 3-point line and beyond. High court IQ, unselfish, often finding an open player under the basket. Drives aggressively with her off hand and when off-balance. Demonstrates athleticism chasing after loose balls. Potential D1 point guard, D2 or NAIA.

5-9 Combo Guard. Hard-nosed, physical defender. Tremendous rebounder for her position. Tracks down and consistently wins 50/50 balls. Shoots the 3 with deep, extended range. Does an excellent job touching the paint and finding her teammates. Finishes with physicality. Bottom line – She does those little things that need to be done to win ball games.

In 20 years of coaching high school basketball, Angelina was one of the toughest and smartest kids I coached. She can rebound with bigger defenders. Her physicality allowed her to defend girls 3-4 inches taller than her. Her IQ is superior over many of her opponents. Angelina can shoot the 3-point shot, which allows her to get to the basket easily. Coaches dream to have a kid who fights for you the way she does.

Message from Angelina

My name is Angelina Giordano, and I am a 2022 graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. I am 5-foot-9 and weigh 139 lbs. During my basketball career, I have played multiple positions such as a shooting guard, point guard and small forward. Currently my GPA at Loyola Academy is 3.82, and I’m planning on taking the ACT this spring.

The athlete in me is truly who I am as a person. I live to compete. I wake up in the morning wanting to make the most of my day. Whether it’s in the classroom or on the court, I am determined to get my assignments, work out, and shots in daily. I set goals for myself weekly – this way I stay focused, accomplish my tasks, and I am able to control my success. I will outwork anyone on the court. I train early in the morning, shoot for hours in my neighbor’s yard, go to practice and then plan for the next day. I am a fighter who won’t back down from adversity. I am a teammate who will have your back. I practice good sportsmanship and own a strong basketball IQ. I study film because I always want that “W.” Grit, will and tenacity are my strengths, and I’m always ready to battle.

Currently at Loyola Academy, I’m taking an Honors Physics course. During my freshman and sophomore years, I was in Honors English and Honors History. Throughout my high school career, I’ve been on the honor roll and received the GCAC All-Conference Academic Team Award two years in a row. Montini Catholic High School chose only a select number of students to be ambassadors for the school, and I was honored to be chosen. I also feel it is important to give back, so I love volunteering at my former grammar school by working concessions, scoring games and coaching the bitty ballers. Basketball is in my blood and I will do whatever it takes to be the best I can be!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile, and I look forward to showing you the hard-working athlete in me.
