Clay Miller, who lives in and was raised in the Cleveland, OH, area, played football at Kent State University, where he joined the program as a preferred walk-on and later earned a full athletic scholarship through his relentless work ethic and performance. His journey from walk-on to scholarship athlete gave him first-hand insight into the dedication, discipline and mindset required to succeed at the collegiate level — perspectives he now passes on to the athletes he mentors.
In 2016, Clay founded On The Map Training (OTMT), a sports performance company dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential through evidence-based training, biomechanics and mental performance development. Since then, he has trained hundreds of athletes across multiple sports, many of whom have earned college scholarships and leadership roles. As a Certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Clay blends science-driven principles with individualized coaching to develop complete and confident athletes.
Clay also served as a defensive line coach at Glenville High School, one of the most decorated high school football programs in the country. There, he helped shape the technique, mindset and performance of elite-level players. Beyond athletics, he is an experienced professional recruiter, having worked with large organizations to expand and strengthen their talent pipelines, skills that enhance his ability to evaluate, connect with and guide athletes toward successful futures.
Clay was a standout athlete at Maple Heights High School. He excelled in football, basketball and baseball, earning three varsity letters by his sophomore year. As a dominant defensive end, he helped lead Maple Heights to a state championship and earned All-Ohio honors, achievements that built the foundation for his life-long commitment to excellence, leadership and athlete development.
Clay’s mission is to develop high-performing athletes who compete with purpose, discipline and heart, helping each one with his or her recruiting journey.
