Paeton Kringel is used to excelling whenever she competes. Even though she was named Team MVP of her school’s tennis and basketball teams, her best sport is softball. Kringel will continue that softball career after recently committing to pitch for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, an NCAA Division I program.

“I am extremely thankful and excited to continue playing softball at UWGB for the next 4 years,” Kringel said. “I absolutely loved everything about UW-Green Bay. I loved the campus, the coaches, the team and the energy and mentality the Phoenix family brought to the field every day. Go Phoenix!”

Kringel, who was named 1st-Team All-State and 2021 Bay Conference Player of the Year, used ScoutU’s connections to land an offer with the school that fit her perfectly.

“It was a pleasure helping Paeton with her recruiting,” ScoutU’s Jason Lauren said. “I started advising her in March of her junior year, and I was in touch with coach Sara Kubuske several times regarding Paeton. I was so happy when Paeton committed to UWGB, a place I think she will excel at!”

Last spring at New London High School, Kringel was fantastic with a 13-3 record, 0.59 ERA and 183 strikeouts over 102 innings. She also totaled a .400 batting average and nine extra-base hits.

“Paeton is a strikeout pitcher who throws 62-64 mph and also thrives at the plate,” Lauren said. “She had a dominating junior season in high school. Paeton also excelled in tennis and basketball. I think she has a very high ceiling in college where she’ll be able to focus on just softball.”

UW-Green Bay just signed a player who can pitch, hit and handle her academics with a 3.8 GPA. Kringel is happy that she fully explored all her options and had a great guide along the way.

“ScoutU was a tremendous help to my family and me finding where I could see myself the next four years,” she said. “Once I enrolled with ScoutU, I had numerous schools contacting me through email, text message and calls. Jason was a huge help in learning about the recruiting process and answering any questions we had. He did everything he could to get my name out there and help find me a place to play.”
