Emmanuel College Coach Andy Yosinoff knows how to identify talent. During his five decades of coaching, Yosinoff has made 21 NCAA Tournament appearances and won 95% of his conference games. His most recent commit is Angelina Giordano, a 2022 ScoutU guard from Chicago.

Emmanuel – located in Boston – features players from the East Coast, as well as Florida, Maine and China. Giordano will add a Midwest presence to the roster as she brings great leadership, playmaking and defensive skills to the Saints.

“Right as I stepped foot on campus, I knew this school was the one for me,” Giordano said. “Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The basketball coach and players respected me, and I felt very comfortable with the staff members.”

Giordano is no stranger to winning, helping Loyola Academy go 30-5 her freshman year and then placing third at the Illinois State Championship during her sophomore campaign. Meanwhile, Emmanuel went 25-2 last season while winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference title with a 16-0 record.

“I am very excited to be able to compete at the next level,” Giordano said. “It is truly an honor to call myself a collegiate athlete. I can’t wait for the competition and memories I will make throughout my next four years.”

Giordano was contacted by 20 different schools and earned six offers. She is appreciative of the guidance that she received from ScoutU’s Linda Blackwell Bentley along the way.

“Linda had a huge impact on my recruiting process,” Giordano said. “Every time I had interest in a school, she would reach out to them for me and send a letter. She was always on top of her work and supported me throughout my process. Linda came to my games and would post my tournament schedule throughout the week, which shows her commitment and caring towards the athletes she works with.”

Ranked one of the top 10 guards in Illinois, Giordano is consistently praised for her high basketball IQ. She complements that with a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in communications.

“Angelina is a terrific athlete who is consistently excellent in every position she plays, offensively and defensively,” Blackwell Bentley said. “Tenacious on the court and high-energy, Angelina hustles all the time and displays a cool composure under pressure. You know you can count on her to lead as a playmaking point guard or make 3s as a wing/shooting guard in clutch situations. She scored over 472 points her senior year alone! Personally, Angelina is a delightful, outgoing and responsible young lady, and I have no doubt she will continue to grow and lead at Emmanuel College.”
