Morgan Dziondziakowski plans to major in pre-med, which limited the number of schools where she could play college softball. That didn’t stop her from receiving double-digit offers before the 2020 ScoutU prospect committed to Saint Mary’s University.
Dziondziakowski, who’s from South Milwaukee, Wis., chose the NCAA Division III school in Minnesota, because it will set her up for long-term success.
“I am beyond excited to be able to play softball for Saint Mary’s University,” Dziondziakowski said. “Saint Mary’s is the perfect university for me. It’s a smaller campus and has great connections with the Mayo Clinic.”
A dual threat during her junior season, Dziondziakowski compiled a 6-2 record with a 2.94 ERA. She also hit .392 with two homers and 17 RBIs at the plate.
“I have always dreamed of playing softball in college, and now I’m finally able to do that,” Dziondziakowski said. “With the help of ScoutU, I was able to get in contact with a ton of colleges and got 10 or more offers to play softball. Without ScoutU’s Jason Lauren, I wouldn’t have been able to reach out or talk to as many coaches as I did, helping me find my dream college.”
Lauren was impressed by Dziondziakowski’s 56 mph fastball, deceptive change-up and great academics (3.9 GPA). Her resume also includes a no-hitter with eight strikeouts.
“Morgan isn’t an overpowering pitcher, but instead relies on her accuracy, spin, movement and knowing how to mix up her pitches,” Lauren said. “She also is a threat at the plate with power potential. I’m so excited Morgan was able to find a great college fit for her. She was a pleasure to work with through the recruiting process. I’m sure she’ll do great things at Saint Mary’s!”
Dziondziakowski’s preparation during high school included multiple AP courses, countless hours of practice and community service. All that hard work, combined with a partner like ScoutU, put her on the path to a great college.
“Thanks to Jason, it made it easier for me to get in touch with the coaches at Saint Mary’s so they could watch me play and eventually recruit me,” she said. “Thanks for all the help you have given me in getting recruited and finding the right college for me.”
