Brett Rosenberger, who lives in the East Bay area of San Francisco, Calif., has been playing, coaching and scouting players for over 40 years. He was recruited to NCAA Division I in three sports: basketball, football and soccer. His passion was soccer, so he decided to play at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs where he was a part of three postseason USAFA teams before playing at DePaul University. Brett played midfield and goalkeeper, having led the country in save percentage and goals against, making 1st-Team All-Conference during his senior year at DePaul before going on active duty. While on active duty, Brett was on the All-Air Force Team and All-Armed Forces Team and was able to play semi-professionally as time allowed with military commitments.

At the end of his tour, Brett had the opportunity to play in Germany and went to test himself in the toughest leagues. As his career wrapped up, he began coaching in their academies before returning to the U.S. where he started Azteca Proving Grounds, a company that is still running today. APG trains players, clubs and coaches how to produce results similar to what you see in Europe and has worked with many clubs. While doing this, Brett has coached at every NCAA/NAIA and JUCO level as either a head or assistant coach. At each school, he has been in charge of recruiting. In 2007, Brett co-authored a book on the recruiting process. Since that time, through his APG workshops, he has helped hundreds of prospective athletes make it to the next level, both from a marketing and development perspective. Brett also is the first American soccer coach to hold a master’s degree in Coaching & Player Development from the elite Barcelona University Johan Cruyff Institute. He also has a pending UEFA coaching license. Brett currently is a board member of two high school district soccer projects and with the United Goalkeeping Alliance, a national online education platform.
