Evaluations

2025 Trayten Woods from Perry County Central HS in Kentucky is an elite shooter. He can shoot the ball in several different ways, including his catch-and-shoot 3, which is almost automatic. Off the dribble pull-up jumpers with good elevation, off the move with down screens, and flare shots. What really impressed me with Trayten was his defensive abilities and pace with the basketball – bringing it up the court to get to his spots. His confidence is really high when he has the ball and does a great job getting his teammates involved as well. He is a well-rounded player who plays hard and plays to win.   Trayten does need to improve his off hand finishes for the next level and continue to get stronger, but other than that he’s a very good player and very coachable. He also handles business off the court with a 4.0 GPA. Trayten adds value as a passer, and I look forward to seeing his growth over the next 4-6 months. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Trayten

My name is Trayten Woods, and I am a 2025 6-foot-1 PG/SG from Perry County Central High School in Hazard, Kentucky. I hold a 4.0 GPA and will major in business. My most prestigious accomplishments are winning Regionals and getting to play at Rupp Arena twice. I have scored 1,300 points in my high school career. The strengths of my game are high basketball IQ, court vision, getting my teammates open, shooting, finishing and my touch. Lastly, I take pride on the defensive end of the floor and do whatever it takes to help my team win.   I consider myself a special athlete because of the traits I bring to the team – these traits are funny, outgoing, can get along with just about anyone, always try to lift my teammates up, and I’m very energetic. My work ethic is what has shaped me into the player I am today. I’m always making sure I’m getting extra reps of shots, ball handling and conditioning, but most importantly I’m taking care of my body. I work out 4-5 days a week, conisisting of a hard 1:30-2 hour workout before and after I stretch to make sure my body is taken care of. Since my freshman year, I have taken college classes and been a straight-A student. The past 2 years, I raised $3,000 in food for a hospice facility here in Hazard. I felt like it was the right thing to do, because I wanted to give back to the community.   Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read a little bit about me. It is very much appreciated.
