Evaluations
6-foot-1, 200 pounds. 1B/3B. R/R. Taron has an excellent swing and baseball IQ for his age. Recognizes and waits on offspeed pitches. Knows strike zone. Waits for strikes and draws a lot of walks (.419 BA in 2024 club season). Good bat speed (94 mph exit). Usually pulls or hits up the middle. Working on hitting opposite way and keeping bat in the zone longer to get the outside pitch. At 1B, stretches well (can do splits), scoops well and not afraid to use his body to keep the ball in front. Working on deciding when to stretch. Plays for very competitive club team (GRB North 17U Yellow). Strong work ethic. Lifts weights 3 times/week. Goes to park nearby to extra work in. Excellent student (3.9 GPA).

I cannot say enough great things about Taron. As a player, he is an extremely skilled first baseman defensively. There were countless challenging plays over the summer that he made look routine. He has a great feel around the base that most at his age do not possess. I have no doubt he has the athleticism to play other positions, but is so talented at 1B he played every inning possible there.
Taron is a highly talented hitter in addition to his defensive acumen. Taron led our team in almost all major offensive categories this summer. Taron does this by impacting the baseball at a high level with exit velocities as high as 91 MPH and a bat speed as high as 70 MPH. With his work ethic, I have no doubt he will reach these numbers more consistently over the coming years. Taron has a knack for fouling off tough pitches until he finds one he can do damage with. One at-bat in particular comes to mind where he fouled off more than 10 pitches against one of the better pitchers we faced, drawing a walk in the process. Taron also shows great poise in big moments at the plate. A home run to send our team to the championship game in one tournament and an RBI double to put us in the semifinals of another tournament are just a few examples of the poise Taron owns.
On top of all his talents on the field, Taron is an equally impressive person. He is always willing to do whatever the team needs of him. He is always the first person to the field for practices and games. Taron treats others with respect and is personable. Taron is the type of kid that all coaches want on their team.

There was no player on our 2023 freshman team who put the TEAM before himself more! In any and every situation, Taron would do what’s best for the team. From pulling the ball to ensure a runner from first moves up, going opposite field to get a runner to third/home or sacrificing any way possible to put the team in a better spot. Taron’s hustle was also unmatched. He would run out any and every ball in play, and his effort in the field never dropped regardless of score or situation.
There are tons of leadership qualities in Taron, however at this point it’s more “lead by example” as opposed to being vocal. Once all things come together, he has Team Captain written all over him.
His attitude and energy, whether in the dugout or on the field, are constantly upbeat and positive. Taron is calm, collected and highly focused. He is a great supporter of his teammates and is always willing to help his coaches. Taron is a sponge, always looking to soak up new information and constantly trying to improve. The sky is the limit for him, and I believe he will be a crucial part of every team he is on.
