Evaluations

Sarah Walker is a 2025 RHP/1B with good size and a dominating presence in the circle. Sarah is tossing 57-59 consistently with all pitches and will touch low 60s on occasion. A solid vertical style pitcher with a phenomenal riseball. She has exceptional movement with control, command and revs in the mid-20s. Solid overhand throw in the mid-50s and a solid softball IQ to go with it. She’s always smiling, yet all business in the circle with little emotion. Her intangibles are through the roof. Loved by her teammates and coaches, and highly respected by competitors. From a perfect game to giving up 3 unearned runs, the kid is a workhorse. Offensively, she is a 5-6 hole hitter with occasional power. As she grows into her size, the speed will come. I’m excited to see where she lands, as she projects very high provided she continues to develop.

Message from Sarah

My name is Sarah Walker, and I’m a RHP/1B from Mills River, North Carolina. I currently attend Rugby Middle School but will graduate from West Henderson H.S. in 2025. I stand 5-foot-7 and weigh 160 pounds. During travel season, I play for Carolina Elite SC 14U National – Fusetti/Thompkins. I have a quick glove and throw in the low 60s from the circle. My ball has both speed and movement. I throw a change-up, screwball, curveball and rise ball. I also have a strong bat and am known as a power hitter on my team.

I dream of playing college softball. That is something I will keep working hard for. I’m a coachable person; always willing to learn from my instructors. I’ve been playing softball since I was 5 years old and pitching since I was 7. We travel 4 hours to Roanoke (VA) to work with my pitching instructor, Denny Tincher, on a regular basis. You will find that I show up early and prepared for anything I do. I am very hard working and have a good attitude.

My time is spent on homework, working out and practicing softball. I work pitching, hitting, fielding and throwing on a regular schedule. My workouts are daily: pitching four days per week, pitching drills every day, and hitting every day. I also do strength and agility training every day. I set goals, work hard to achieve them, and then move forward to new goals.

My work ethic is very important to me and I not only apply it with softball, but with my academics as well. I’m proud of my A-Honor Roll status at school and work very hard to keep my grades in all my classes in the mid-to-upper 90s. I take Honors Science and English and AP World History this semester. I also enjoy being in the orchestra class playing the viola and participating in the special Ensemble Orchestra group.

Thank you for reading a little about me, and I look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate your consideration as a player for your program. If you have any advice for me in order to realize my goal of playing top-level college softball, I would appreciate hearing that as well.
