Evaluations
Samuel Young is a strong defensive midfielder who has great technical ability, an excellent passing range, and exceptional field awareness. His vision and composure on the ball allow him to escape pressure and play through opposing lines to advance his team up the field.
In addition to his technical qualities, Samuel brings a strong physical presence to the midfield. He is fearless in tackles, does not shy away from 50/50 challenges, and provides a reliable defensive anchor for his team.
Off the field, Samuel is a dedicated student, earning a place on the Honor Roll during both his freshman and sophomore years. With his combination of skill, soccer IQ and work ethic, Samuel would be a fantastic addition to any collegiate program.

Sam is a leader for our program on and off the field. He sets a great example for the level of commitment and effort required to achieve our goals. Off the field, he won our Team Covenants Award and was recognized by his peers as an outstanding teammate and leader.
On the field, Sam is a tireless midfielder who covers an incredible amount of ground, capable of joining the attack as well as disrupting the opposition’s play. He is excellent on set pieces, both as an aerial threat offensively and as a reliable defender. Sam combines size, skill and intelligence, allowing him to read the game at a high level and make consistently sound decisions.
He also brings an exceptional work rate to every training session and match, and he’s extremely coachable, always receptive to feedback and eager to improve. Sam would be a tremendous addition to any college midfield.
