Evaluations

Sam Forslund is one of the most well-rounded recruits in the state of Wisconsin. He’s an excellent ball-striker with the ability to drive it 300 yards and hit 65% of his greens. Sam has produced consistent scores in the mid-70s during the last two years, including back-to-back top-16 finishes at the State Championship. During his junior season, he won the Conference Championship (73) and broke 70 at both the Quad Cities Classic (68) and the Battle at the Rock (69).   Sam has been playing varsity since his freshman year and thrives on being a leader for his team. He possesses the ability to bounce back from any bad shot and not let it affect him moving forward. With continued focus on his short game, Sam has dropped his scoring average several strokes into the 74 range.   Sam has had the goal of playing collegiate golf for several years, and he’s invested in that with serious workouts all winter, extra time on the simulator and traveling to play national tours in the South. Planning to major in finance, Sam is also reliable off the course with his 3.5 GPA. — Jon Feyen, ScoutU Golf Scout, Jon@ScoutU.com, 920-979-3093

Message from Sam

My name is Sam Forslund, and I’m in the 2026 class from Middleton HS in Wisconsin. I have a strong drive to play golf at the collegiate level. This year my scoring average is 72.95, as I won our Conference Championship (73) and made the All-State 2nd Team. I drive the ball 300 yards off the tee, and I’m ranked in the top-10 for our state’s 2026 Class (Wisconsin.Golf). At the WIAA State Championship this June, I shot 77-73 to place 14th. Academically, I maintain a 3.54 unweighted GPA, and I’m interested in majoring in business/finance in college.   This spring, I shot a 68 at the Quad Cities Classic and a 69 at the Battle at the Rock. A couple highlights from last year include shooting 67 (-5) in the first round of the Mike Schnaar Junior Championship and finishing 3rd (74-75) at the Charleston Junior Open on the Hurricane Tour. In terms of my golf game, I consider my ball striking (65% GIR) and putting to be my strengths (32 putts/round).   What sets me apart from my competitors is my competitive drive, which fuels my confidence and motivates me to constantly improve my game. During the season, I practice 4-6 times a week and work out 3-4 times a week. My workouts combine mobility exercises with strength training. Outside of school and golf, I stay involved in my community by volunteering with the Second Harvest food pantry, and teaching golf lessons to kids at our local course during the summer.   Thank you for taking time to review my profile, and I hope to talk with you soon.
