Evaluations

6-5 SG Omar Said from Mounds Park Academy is a player to watch in Minnesota. The junior guard recently had a great game against Washington Tech where he exploded for 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The guard is versatile with his outside shooting, ball handling, attacking the basket strong with his athleticism and making his teammates better with his passing ability.   Omar has a natural and smooth pull-up jumper that is lethal. He’s very good in transition with his length and explosiveness. A matchup problem offensively, and defensively he can guard 1-4 due to his size and athleticism. Also very coachable and handles business off the court holding a 3.1 GPA. Definitely a true college prospect for D1 and D2 programs. The ceiling is high for Omar Said! — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Omar

I’m Omar Said, a 2027 SG from Mounds Park Academy in Minnesota. I’m 6-foot-5 and average 24 points and 8 rebounds per game. Basketball isn’t just a game to me — it’s a part of my everyday life. I’m the kind of person who’s willing to get up in the middle of the night just to get a workout in, because I know what I want and I’m committed to getting there.   One of my biggest strengths is my basketball IQ and court vision. I see the floor well (4 APG), make smart plays, and know how to get my teammates involved. I also take pride in my shooting ability — I’m confident pulling up anywhere on the court.   Off the court, I’m a strong student with mostly A’s and B’s. I’m also very family-oriented and faith-driven, which helps keep me grounded and focused. People say I’m easy to get along with, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and building relationships.   In 8th grade (2022–2023), I was a starting guard on JV, which gave me early experience competing with older players. I know I bring something different — not just my confidence and work ethic, but also my character. I believe I can be a strong part of any college program, and I’m working hard every day to earn that opportunity and eventually make it to the NBA. I hope that we can have a discussion about your program soon.
