Evaluations

2025 SF Nsikan Usen from Michigan is a long, athletic, multi-dimensional player. He is a good slasher, finisher, and has a nice mid-range pull-up. At his size (6-6) and length, Nsikan is a solid prospect for a lot of D1 and D2 programs. He can defend on the ball, guard all positions 1-5, can handle the basketball, attack the paint and finish. He is capable of mid-range pull-ups due to defenders trying to block off his drives.   Nsikan plays for D Rice Elite in high-level tournaments and has been playing well this summer. He can improve with his 3-point shooting ability and ball handling. But once he is downhill, it’s pretty much an easy finish for him around the basket due to his size and athleticism. Overall a very good player, has a good motor, plays hard and is coachable. Nsikan is an exceptional student off the court, holding a 3.8 GPA and helping aid students with struggling grades with his knowledge and dedication. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Nsikan

My name is Nsikan Usen, and I am a 2025 forward at International Academy West in White Lake, Michigan. My current GPA is a 3.8 and I am undecided on my college major, though my interest has been in engineering for quite some time. I am 6-foot-6 and currently weigh 205 lbs. A few things that stand out about my game are my defense and my ability to attack the basket. I am also a very versatile player with a high motor, which means I can play many different positions. In the past few seasons, I’ve earned Team MVP my junior year, Defensive MVP my sophomore year, All-Conference 1st Team and three-time All-Conference Scholar-Athlete while being a two-year team captain.   I am a very hardworking individual who is dedicated to the game of basketball. I would describe myself as a winner, as I do whatever is required to attain success on and off the court. Outside of practice, I work out on my own, do skills training by myself or with one of my coaches 6 out of 7 days a week. Academically my high school is an IB school, so all of the classes I take are advanced classes. One of my strengths in the classroom is leadership, as I am a representative for our athletic conference. I have consistently earned a spot on the school’s Academic Honor Roll.   Thank you for taking the time to read this brief description, and I hope we talk soon.
