Evaluations
2027 PG Madyson Sokolowski from Keystone High School is a baller! Her ball handling ability – crossing defenders and hitting clutch shots over them – is what makes her so special. I could see the confidence and poise as she went in & out, behind the back, and crossed over a girl who went the opposite direction. I was impressed from the start. Madyson then brought the ball down court, did a quick move and knocked down a contested pull-up 3.
At first I thought she was a junior or senior, and then found out she was only a freshman! Mady is very mature for her age and has great point guard attributes. She is also a very good rebounder and defensive menace on the court. Keystone plays her about 90% of the game, because she has everything you could ask for in a point guard. She gets her teammates open with great moves causing double teams, which leads to easy points for her teammates. Madyson controls the tempo for her team, making big-time plays, locking up on defense, and most importantly she is very coachable! Always sprinting to the sideline to talk with her coach for the next play to relay back to the team. Her shooting ability and form is fun to watch – I can tell she puts a lot of hours in the gym perfecting her game. She was also the only player sprinting to her teammates when they fell to help them up.
Mady does need to improve on her finishing ability around the basket for the next level, but over the next few years I absolutely know she will improve in that category because basketball is her life, and she loves it. She will also need to take over the game and become a true leader for her team to continue to be successful. Mady holds a 4.0 GPA and plays high-level basketball for MAC AAU.
