Liberty James is an exceptional outfielder with a 4.0 GPA, showcasing both athletic and academic prowess. With impressive arm strength (65 mph overhand), Liberty consistently delivers outs from the outfield, demonstrating a high softball IQ and remarkable fielding awareness. Her cognitive approach to the game and ability to read the ball off the bat make her an asset in any defensive scenario. Liberty isn’t afraid to dive, and her quick footwork and agility ensure she covers ground swiftly, clocking times of 2.8 seconds over 20 yards. Known for her aggressive play style, she provides vocal instruction and encouragement to her teammates, embodying leadership both vocally and through her actions on the field. Her experience extends beyond the OF to first base, shortstop, and even pitching, highlighting her versatility and reliability as a utility player.   Offensively, Liberty is a reliable hitter, consistently positioned in the 3-4-5 spots in the lineup due to her power. She has the ability to place the ball where directed, making quick adjustments as needed and showcasing a keen awareness of in-game dynamics. Liberty’s dedication to weight training is evident in her explosive hits and the home runs she has notched, and her quick feet ensure she’s a threat on the bases. She has the ability to play multiple positions on the diamond due to her excellent athleticism. Liberty possesses a strong, accurate arm. She gets rid of the ball quickly, which makes it difficult for baserunners to run on her. Liberty is aggressive on the bases. Her instincts make her a good baserunner as she routinely advances on balls that other players do not.   She has tremendous lower body strength that she uses to generate a lot of power in her short swing. Liberty can leave the yard foul pole to foul pole. As a player, she checks all of the boxes. As a freshman, Liberty has taken on a leadership role, holding players to the standard we have created while making sure she exceeds those standards herself. Team success is what drives Liberty. Our players look up to Liberty for guidance, and she delivers.   On campus and in the classroom, Liberty is a model student. She has excellent time management and organizational skills. The same attributes that make her a successful player are the same attributes that make her a successful student. As she matures and gains experience, Liberty’s softball IQ will continue to grow.
