Standing at 5’10”, Kiana brings a commanding presence at 1st base, where her excellent reach and flexibility make her highly effective. Her ability to communicate is exceptional; she consistently directs her teammates with clear, strategic insights on upcoming plays, a vital attribute in high-stakes competition. As a lefty, Kiana leverages her unique perspective and experience at first base to execute plays with precision and poise, showcasing her understanding of game strategy. Her adaptability extends to left field, where she demonstrates superb tracking skills, reading the ball accurately off the bat and covering a wide range to secure crucial outs. Message from Kiana

My name is Kiana Anderson, and I am a 2027 1B/LF from Rutland Senior Secondary in Kelowna, British Columbia. My GPA is 4.0, and I’m currently looking into a kinesiology degree. As a left-handed 1B standing 5-foot-10, I have a natural advantage on the field. My long stretch allows me to make plays that others might miss, giving me strength at key moments on the field. Last season at the plate, I hit .490 with a .549 on-base percentage (72 mph exit).   What makes me special as an athlete goes far beyond physical traits – I have strong mental toughness, resilience and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. My strongest attribute is the ability to focus and stay calm in high-pressure situations, which allows me to perform when it matters most. I consistently put in extra hours outside of practice focusing on strength training, mobility and first base specific drills to improve my game (each session is about 1 hour 5 days a week). When it comes to my academic strengths, I strive for educational excellence in science and math while balancing my passion for softball, showing leadership, teamwork and time management skills. Additionally, I actively volunteer in my community by teaching youth to play softball and wrapping presents for Kelowna Santa’s at Christmas time. I aim to foster growth, resolve conflict and contribute positively to those around me.   Thank you coaches for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to speaking with you.
