Kendyl Conrad

Kendyl Conrad is a rising 2026 golfer who continues to improve. Since her school doesn’t have a girls team, Kendyl competes with the boys during spring. She carded an 81 at the Conference Championship and an 86 at the WIAA Regional her sophomore year. Kendyl averaged in the mid-80s throughout the 2024 season.   A great athlete who’s also played three years of varsity basketball, Kendyl has a long, smooth swing that should keep adding to her driving distance (220 yards). She is very accurate, hitting around 75% of her fairways. Kendyl’s chipping ability often helps her avoid big numbers, but she can continue lowering her scores with improved putting.   Kendyl works hard on her game all winter using a simulator in her garage and meeting with her instructor, Dan Gogin. She is dedicated in the classroom – taking AP and Honors courses while holding a 3.9 GPA – and very involved in her school and community activities. I have worked with Kendyl for over 7 years now, and she has always come to lessons with a positive attitude and a focused work ethic to improve. Her growth in resilience has been impressive as well.   Last year at the College Showcase, she had one of the toughest rounds of her career. Instead of letting it get her down, she came out and shot 84 the next day on one of the most challenging golf courses in Wisconsin and the home of multiple PGA Tour events, Whistling Straits. This is just one of many examples over the last few years of her ability to overcome adversity.   Kendyl‘s current swing is built for consistency with very little side spin. It would be what’s referred to as a “stock swing” to encourage trajectory and distance control. This was evident in her fairways hit for the 2024 season with 70%. Her greens in regulation percentage was low, but will be greatly enhanced by a new set of higher spinning irons for 2025.   Kendyl is also very fortunate to have an outstanding team behind her. Her family is supportive and loving and all of them are a pleasure to work with and be around. I am incredibly proud to have Kendyl as a student, and I can’t wait to see what she will do her next 2 high school seasons and beyond! Kendyl‘s goals for 2025 include hitting more greens, adding 10 to 15 yards off the tee, and an enhanced focus on putting. Her short game is fantastic, so her potential is exciting! — Dan Gogin, PGA   I’ve had the opportunity to coach Kendyl during the 2023 and 2024 spring golf seasons. She has played in every varsity meet her freshman and sophomore year. Kendyl’s greatest strength in her golf game is her ability to drive the ball accurately. This past season, she averaged 10 fairways per round. She rarely finds herself in trouble off the tee. Kendyl’s average driving distance is about 215 yards. As she gains experience and gets a little stronger, she will be able to increase her distance. Her accuracy off the tee can also be attributed to her ball flight. Kendyl hits the ball with a slight draw and does not have a lot of curve on her shots.   Kendyl continues to improve with her iron play. She has the ability to be a great iron player because she has a fairly low ball flight. This is beneficial, especially in the spring with the windy Wisconsin weather. Kendyl made a big improvement from her freshmen to sophomore year with her short game. Last year she averaged about 34 putts per round. Her speed control has improved with her lag putting, resulting in very few 3-putts. Her short game will become more of a strength as she gains experience.   Kendyl is in a unique situation because she plays on our boys team since we do not have a girls team. This is not an easy situation and can be challenging. She has never been fazed by being the only girl in the conference. She has great mental toughness and is the ultimate competitor. The opposing players and coaches have great respect for Kendyl. Without question, Kendyl’s greatest intangible is being a great teammate. She celebrates the success of her teammates over her own. As the season went on, she became more vocal as a team leader. Every day she comes to practice with an open mind and positive attitude. Her goal is to work hard at practice to improve and be the best version of herself. Kendyl is receptive to coaching and wants to be pushed.
