2025 3B/C/OF. 5-foot-4, 135 pounds. R/R. At the plate, is an all-fields hitter who makes solid contact (67 mph exit; .352 club BA). Good hip turn and uses lower half well. Working on better pitch selection. Versatile defensive player (can play any position). 3B is her primary position (has a very good glove and footwork and a quick transfer). Good arm (59 mph infield). Strong work ethic (long tosses, weight training on own at at school, has a cage at home that hits in 4-5 times a week, softball lessons). High softball IQ (2 older brothers played college baseball). Coachable and learns quickly. Strong mental toughness. Leader (will play 4th year of varsity this season at a large D1 school). Teammates gravitate toward her. I had the pleasure of coaching Kaylee this past season. She is the type of player who never gives up and is one of the most mentally tough kids I have ever seen play the game. I could always count on her athletic abilities and skills while she was catching. She has a solid and accurate arm that has helped us in many different situations during game play. Every summer tournament we played, she averaged at least one base runner throw down per game for an out. She was also able to form connections with each of our pitchers and hold them accountable during games and practices. I was always able to count on her to give an honest report back to me after she was done warming up pitchers about who was hitting spots and who wasn’t.
One area she’s been working on improving is her hitting. Kaylee is the type of hitter that when she connects with the ball, it will go the distance. She is working on becoming a more consistent hitter in the box, and I believe that if she continues to put in the work, she will be quite a threat.
Her leadership on and off the field was also an important factor for our team. Her confidence radiates through the team and has a way of influencing her teammates around her to also express confidence. Her coachability and willingness to learn and become better at the game is infectious. Once Kaylee has your trust as a coach, she would run through a brick wall if you asked her to. Her leadership shines in a way that is different from most – she is the type of worker who expects greatness from her teammates. She knows when to have a good time with her team, but she’s also able to dial in and focus when the time is right. She has grown so much just from what I was able to see from the beginning to the end of last season, and I am excited to watch her continue to grow not only in life but through the wonderful game of softball as well.

Kaylee Marhefke has been a key member of the Neenah High School varsity for the past 3 years, starting on the field for the last 2. Her versatility allows her to excel in multiple positions, including catcher, infield and outfield. Defensively, she consistently reads the ball well off the bat and demonstrates strong situational awareness, making her a reliable presence in high-pressure moments. Kaylee’s swing mechanics are sound, giving her good power at the plate, and she’s highly effective in executing bunts and hitting behind the runner.
In terms of areas for growth, Kaylee would benefit from continuing to train with a focus on purposeful, quality-driven work. Additionally, as she develops physically, continued strength training will help enhance her performance.
Off the field, Kaylee exemplifies what it means to be a high-character player. She’s an amazing teammate, a strong leader both on and off the field, and she’s not afraid to speak up and offer positive contributions in challenging situations. Her work ethic is unmatched – always the first to help with equipment and field maintenance after practice and games. Kaylee is the kind of player every coach wants on their team.
