Evaluations

Kaleb is an exceptional defender who excels as a left back. With a strong left foot, Kaleb is able to maintain possession of the ball, join the attack on the dribble, whip in crosses from wide areas and connect with teammates around him. As a defender, Kaleb is not afraid to get stuck in and times his tackles well. His pace allows him to track down forwards and keep them in wide areas to limit crosses and shot attempts.   Academically, Kaleb is dedicated in the classroom and maintains a high GPA while balancing the demands of his club duties at Vardar playing in MLS Next Homegrown. I believe that Kaleb has the tools and the potential to be an impactful student-athlete at the next level for any college program. — Mackenzie Bellows-Schissel, ScoutU Soccer Scout, Mackenzie@ScoutU.com, 256-283-1160

Message from Kaleb

I’m Kaleb Hammersley, a dedicated 2027 student-athlete at Dakota High School in Michigan (1st-Team All-District as sophomore). I currently play for Vardar MLS Next Homegrown and have been competing at the top academy level for the past five years. My primary position is left wingback, but I’m also comfortable and effective in the midfield. I’m a left-footed player known for my speed, vision and ability to read the game. Academically, I maintain a 3.5 GPA and have earned Honor Roll recognition every semester of high school. This year, I plan to apply to the National Honor Society.   My soccer journey began at age 3, and I’ve been committed to the game ever since. I played for Nationals Boys 09 Academy for five years, competing in the ECNL Ohio Valley Region for the last three. Our team won the division two years in a row and advanced to the national semifinal playoffs. For the 2025-2026 season, I’ve joined Vardar MLS Next Homegrown to challenge myself at an even higher level of competition.   I’ve been a varsity starter at Dakota High School since my freshman year, playing in all 18 games both freshman and sophomore years. Coaches consistently praise my ability to anticipate plays, exploit weaknesses, and contribute both defensively and offensively. I excel in 1v1 situations, have strong dribbling skills, and deliver accurate crosses and long balls that often lead to scoring opportunities. My speed allows me to track back defensively while also making aggressive attacking runs.   I’m excited to continue growing as a player and student, and I look forward to the opportunities that college soccer will bring.
