Evaluations

Kailyn Gahagan is a 2028 prospect from Central High School in Martinsburg, PA. She is primarily a pitcher but also sees time at 1B and RF. Kailyn’s pitch mix includes a fastball, changeup, curve and screw. Curveball is her best pitch, starting in the zone and working outside to make batters miss. Her versatility and athleticism allow her to be dominant in multiple positions. Not only does she excel on the softball field, but she’s also excellent in the classroom (3.8 GPA).   Typically hitting 3rd or 4th, Kailyn batted .432 last season with a .473 on-base percentage. In the circle her velocity is 53-55 mph and touches 56 occasionally. During last season she pitched 65 innings and held a 2.80 ERA with 83 strikeouts. In 2024, Kailyn led her club team to multiple event titles, including Tournament MVP at the Battle of the Bases. During her freshman season at Central HS, she has started all 8 games. — Grace Jackson, ScoutU Softball Scout, Grace@ScoutU.com, 330-206-8409

Message from Kailyn

My name is Kailyn Gahagan, and I’m a 2028 recruit from Central High School in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. I am 5-foot-9 and weigh 150 pounds. My primary position is pitcher (56 mph fastball), but I can play anywhere on the field except catcher. I usually play 1B or RF when I’m not in the circle. I work hard both on and off the softball field. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and attend college prep classes at school.   Along with varsity softball, I also play soccer as our starting goalkeeper. My travel softball team is Sideline Cancer Organization 14U based out of Bellwood, Pennsylvania. I have been with this team since 2023, and I love playing with my teammates for something “Bigger Than Softball.” I believe I have a strong mental approach when I play and adjust during each game for hitting and/or pitching. When I’m in the circle, I don’t dwell on the negative. I see each pitch as a new opportunity.   I started playing baseball at age 3 and moved over to softball at age 6. I play softball not only for the love of the game but also the friendships I’ve made because of it. I have grown so much in the past 10 seasons as a player and a person. Softball has given so much to me and my family. I want to play softball in college because I love the game and want to continue to challenge myself.   Thank you for taking time out of your day to view my profile!
