Evaluations

I’ve watched Julia Waterman pitch for two years with Synergy Gold, an elite travel team out of British Columbia. Julia has extensive high-performance experience and is sought after by numerous groups across the U.S. to deepen their pitching bench in tournaments. As a Canadian athlete, Julia is a 2023 Softball Factory Preseason Rookie All-American, a 2023 USSSA Select3D Camp Invitee and a 2022/2020 USSSA Direct Invite All-American.   When Julia steps into the circle with her 62 MPH fastball, you can see the confidence shift in her teammates; they trust her. She celebrates their successes and supports their failures; her teammates feel safe with Julia on the mound. She builds a level of confidence that’s felt through her energy displayed on the field – I am confident this is why Julia is requested to play for so many teams. Julia is a 4.0 student off the diamond while being named the 2023 Top Student in Math, English and French. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Softball Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215   Julia is a fantastic pitcher who is always working to hone her skills. She can control her game by hitting her spots and changing speeds. Julia is one of the hardest-working players I know. She works on hitting and defense as well. — Kim Brooks, Synergy Gold Coach, Univ. of Oklahoma Softball (1987-89)

Message from Julia

My name is Julia Waterman, and I am a 5-foot-5 right-handed pitcher and corner infielder from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. I am a 2027 graduate, and I plan on majoring in either pre-med, biology or neurosciences with the goal of becoming a brain surgeon after softball. I am a dedicated and hard-working player who works on my game daily (pitching and hitting) in addition to team practices. Recently, I have seen my hard work pay off by throwing my fastball 62-63 mph, while having my dropball measured at 98% spin efficiency (Rapsodo). In the batter’s box, I also own a 69 mph exit velocity. This season my club team (Synergy Gold) finished 4th in Canada at Nationals, and I broke team records for hits, RBIs, total bases, doubles and extra-base hits in a season.   I am an all-around athlete, also lettering in volleyball, basketball and soccer, while earning my black belt in taekwondo at 10 years old. In addition to performing well in sports, I hold a 4.0 GPA and was named the top student for my school in math, English and French. I enjoy spending time helping coach new softball pitchers at clinics and camps.   I fell in love with softball from a young age and have never looked back – I truly couldn’t see my life without it. College softball has been my goal ever since I learned what college softball was, but my biggest dream is to continue playing after college and represent my country. I hope to achieve this goal and use it as an opportunity to better my future and take the game I love and turn it into a life.   Thank you for your time, and I hope we can connect soon.
