Evaluations

5-8 and 180 pounds. Josh Anonuevo is a strong, high-IQ, fundamentally sound point guard. Josh does a great job getting to the rim – creating and finishing through contact. Josh has a constant motor and always finds a way to impact the game and make plays.   Josh shoots the ball well and knocks down jump shots. He has an explosive first step and can pull up and make shots off the dribble. Josh handles the ball extremely well and loves to be a pest on the defensive end.   Josh is currently in the weight room with his twin brother Justine and working on his three-point shooting ability. He is doing a great job preparing himself for the next level. The Bunbury native boasts an equivalent 3.0 GPA and will be a great addition to any college. — Wes Morgan, ScoutU Basketball Scout, WesM@ScoutU.com, 704-816-9367

Message from Josh

My name is Joshua Anonuevo, a 5-8 energetic point guard. I’m in the class of 2026 and currently attending Grace Christian School in Bunbury, Western Australia. In Australian education I’m in year 10, which is equivalent to being a sophomore in America. My grades are currently all B’s (an estimated GPA of 3.0). On the basketball court, I am best known for being where coach needs me to be, while contributing the most I can, which could be on defense, offense or even just being there to bring the needed energy.   Because I am a 5-8 point guard who plays a game dominated by taller people, it means I have to work twice as hard as the rest. What makes me a special athlete is my drive to win – I will do whatever it takes to bring the team a victory, meaning I am willing to put my body on the line, provide energy when needed and can step up to become a leader as well. My work ethic is what makes me the player I am today. I’m constantly on the court trying to improve what needs work and overall just perfecting my game. I’ve also been in the gym to ready my body for tougher, stronger opponents.   During school I am an engaged student who does well in class. I have previously received academic distinctions for multiple classes I’ve taken (meaning I had an A in that subject). In the world outside of basketball and school, I’m seen trying to make everyone smile and have a positive impact on the world.   Thank you for viewing my profile, and I’m looking forward to having a conversation with you!
