Evaluations

Harper Hancock is a legitimate 2023 MI/C from Wahoo, Nebraska. Currently 5-foot-5, she has exceptional feet, hands and a very strong arm (1.66 pop time). Although she has good range, Harper reads the ball well giving her an advantage. Offensively, she is usually found in the 3-5 holes and has the ability to move runners and get on base. She swings a gap-style bat with occasional power. In the classroom, Harper excels very well. She maintains a 3.9 GPA and scored a 30 on the pre-ACT. Harper is hardworking, a great teammate and has all the intangibles a coach would want. She will be a great asset on any roster.

Athletic Skills & Strengths: She is a true athlete who can play anywhere on the field. Outstanding Catcher. Extremely skilled at framing and blocking. Harper has a very strong arm combined with a quick release. She is also very good at 2nd. She has a very good glove. Harper is an excellent hitter always at the top of the lineup. Her on-base percentage is very high, and she is always an asset at the plate with runners on (even higher average).

Athletic Areas to Improve: Outfield work. Reading and judging the ball. We have played her there, and she is more than serviceable. She just needs more experience.

Non-Athletic Strengths: Harper is a leader on the field during games and at practices. She is vocal and is an example. Everyone on the team looks up to her. Her work ethic is a direct reflection of personality. She is always willing to put in the extra work and is not afraid to learn. Harper likes feedback and is constantly looking to grow. She is a great player but an even better person.

Message from Harper

My name is Harper Hancock, and I am a 5-foot-5, 140-pound utility player in the 2023 class at Wahoo High School in Nebraska. I have been playing softball for 11 years and am extremely passionate about it. My main positions are catcher (1.78 pop, 61 mph), shortstop (65 mph IF), and centerfield. I scored a 28 on the ACT, and my hope is to major in criminal justice. During my senior high school season this fall, I am the top hitting catcher in the state (.565 BA, .754 OBP) for a No. 1-ranked team, I’m hitting .600 against three NCAA D1 commits, and I have had only four attempted steals against me this season.

Along with lettering in softball all four years of high school, I am in many different clubs and school organizations. I’m on the cheer team, in National Honors Society, Multicultural Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and Unified Track. With these clubs, I have a part-time job at the local Dairy Queen. Doing all these separate activities and maintaining my 3.8 GPA has allowed me to become very goal-oriented and focused. I believe that I am very driven and organized. Each hour of my day is allotted to something. Three to four days a week I am driving an hour to and from practice. I have become very good at managing time and making sure I get the most out of it. This means working as hard as I possibly can.

I am a hardworking person who makes the most of her time. I understand how valuable your time is, so thank you for visiting my profile and considering me.
