Evaluations
Emma Kinar is a 5-foot-11 LHP whose combination of athleticism, skill and work ethic makes her a standout candidate for college softball. With an ERA of 1.76 and a WHIP of 1.07, Emma demonstrates exceptional control and effectiveness, highlighted by her first no-hitter at the Canadian National Championships. Her fastball reaches 61 mph, complemented by a devastating curveball and rise ball with excellent movement. Offensively, Emma delivers consistent production from the fourth spot in the lineup, hitting .335 over 61 games with only 14 strikeouts in 184 AB. Her ability to adapt in high-pressure situations is exemplified by her 4 successful squeeze bunts at Nationals, showcasing her tactical mindset and team-first approach. Additionally, Emma is a reliable defender at first base, committing only two errors all season. She is reliable on the basepaths and owns a time of 3.0 seconds to first base.
Beyond her physical talents, Emma’s intangibles are what set her apart as a collegiate prospect. A cognitive learner with an impressive 4.0 GPA, she balances a rigorous schedule that includes softball academy training, pitching and hitting lessons, and multi-sport participation as a hockey and ringette goaltender. Her mental resilience, drive and ability to thrive under pressure are unparalleled, qualities honed from competing in high-stakes environments such as U18 boys hockey and as a Canadian Sport Institute-carded athlete. Emma is a natural leader who elevates her teammates with her competitive spirit and commitment to excellence. Her coachability and dedication to continuous improvement, both on and off the field, embody the characteristics sought by top NCAA programs. Emma’s combination of physical prowess, mental toughness, and academic excellence makes her poised to contribute immediately and make a lasting impact.

I have trained Emma privately once or twice a week for the last 5 years. It is pure joy for me to provide this reference for Emma Kinar. Over the years, I have seen Emma demonstrate natural athletic ability. She is agile, strong, quick, powerful, composed, gritty and is one of the most coachable athletes I have worked with. She is hungry for extra work and completes any extra work on her own time.
Emma shines in the circle. Her greatest strength is her ability to adapt and overcome challenging situations. She can self-correct, mentally adjust to any situation, and works harder than anyone else to the last pitch thrown – staying mentally tough the entire game. Emma is consistent with her command with almost all her pitches and continues to increase her speed as she grows (now over 5-11); with both parents being over 6-2, she still has more to go. Emma reached 65 mph on walkthroughs, and in-game she is consistently 58-60 mph at 15 years old. She has a curveball, drop ball, rise ball and changeup alongside her fastball, which she can locate very well. Emma is currently developing a screw ball.
Emma is also one of the top first basemen in the province and a 3/4/5 hitter in the lineup. She has a long reach; I have witnessed her stretching full-out into splits to get an out. Her lefty contact/power bat is a huge asset for the team. She rarely strikes out, tracking the ball extremely well (one of the best I have worked with), possibly due to her being a high-level hockey goalie. Emma shines with runners on, consistently in the upper part of the lineup – she gets many opportunities to help her team win with offense. She can also bunt very well.
Any team would be lucky to have this well-rounded, very smart, talented and respectful athlete. Emma will make your players better and provide your team with support and leadership offensively, defensively and with her character.
