With an ERA of 1.76 and a WHIP of 1.07, Emma demonstrates exceptional control and effectiveness, highlighted by her first no-hitter at the Canadian National Championships. Her fastball reaches 61 mph, complemented by a devastating curveball and rise ball with excellent movement. Her ability to adapt in high-pressure situations is exemplified by her 4 successful squeeze bunts at Nationals, showcasing her tactical mindset and team-first approach. Additionally, Emma is a reliable defender at first base, committing only two errors all season. She is reliable on the basepaths and owns a time of 3.0 seconds to first base.   Beyond her physical talents, Emma’s intangibles are what set her apart as a collegiate prospect. A cognitive learner with an impressive 4.0 GPA, she balances a rigorous schedule that includes softball academy training, pitching and hitting lessons, and multi-sport participation as a hockey and ringette goaltender. Her mental resilience, drive and ability to thrive under pressure are unparalleled, qualities honed from competing in high-stakes environments such as U18 boys hockey and as a Canadian Sport Institute-carded athlete. Emma is a natural leader who elevates her teammates with her competitive spirit and commitment to excellence. Her coachability and dedication to continuous improvement, both on and off the field, embody the characteristics sought by top NCAA programs. Emma’s combination of physical prowess, mental toughness, and academic excellence makes her poised to contribute immediately and make a lasting impact. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Softball Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215

Message from Emma

My name is Emma Kinar, and I am a 2027 recruit from G.W. Graham Secondary School in Chilliwack, British Columbia. I am 5-foot-11 and weigh 147 pounds. As a left-handed pitcher, I throw 61 mph. I also play first base and bat as a left-handed hitter (66 mph exit). In the classroom, I hold a GPA of 4.0.   I consider myself to be a hardworking and coachable athlete, constantly seeking feedback and tips to bring my game to the next level. I love watching collegiate softball and hope to one day play at this level. I am a multi-sport athlete playing on the British Columbia’s Provincial Ringette team as a goaltender. I am currently a member of my school’s baseball and softball academy, where I receive extra coaching and weightlifting instruction during the school year, and I am also a goalie with the local boys ice hockey team. Last year I earned the Junior Athlete Award for my school’s baseball academy. I also won the Top Band Student for playing trumpet in my school’s band.   A 2024 softball highlight for me was winning the British Columbia Provincial title and then going on to win the U15 Canadian National Championship with my team. With my busy schedule of softball, ice hockey, ringette and school, I enjoy volunteering as a hockey goaltending instructor and with my local learn-to-play softball program. I am also a junior coach with the Ice Hawks Indigenous ringette program, which is the first program of its kind, brining team sport opportunity to First Nations youth.   Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a great 2025 season!
