Emma Golde is an exceptional catcher who brings a unique blend of talent, intelligence and leadership to the field. With a pop time of 1.66 seconds, and a bat speed of 64 mph, Emma is a force to be reckoned with both offensively and defensively. She started catching in the 2nd grade and quickly developed a passion for being in control of the game. Emma’s ability to communicate effectively with her pitchers and teammates is unparalleled, making her an invaluable leader behind the plate. Her loud, commanding presence and unwavering focus ensure she consistently keeps the game in check, no matter the situation.   Emma is a student of the sport, always striving to learn and improve. Her coachability, coupled with her cognitive learning style, makes her a favorite among coaches who appreciate her dedication and willingness to take feedback to heart. She is highly motivated, regularly attending camps and clinics to refine her skills, and her private training sessions demonstrate her commitment to continuous growth. Emma’s ability to maintain a “poker face” during games, locking in and giving her best every time, speaks to her mental toughness and resilience.   Playing on an 18U team at age 14, Emma has proven that she can compete at a high level and adapt to challenging situations. Her secondary position at shortstop and her love for playing 3rd base showcase her versatility on the field. Off the field, Emma’s 3.8 GPA reflects her academic excellence, and her involvement teaching younger students and volunteering with special education students highlights her leadership and commitment to giving back. With strong support from both parents who competed in elite sports themselves, Emma has a solid foundation that has nurtured her athletic and academic pursuits. Emma Golde is a well-rounded athlete with the skills, mindset and leadership qualities that make her a top recruit for any college program. — Susan Kemper, ScoutU Softball Scout, Susan@ScoutU.com, 604-808-5215

Message from Emma

My name is Emma Golde, and I am a 5-foot-5 catcher, shortstop and 3rd baseman from San Ramon, California. I am in the class of 2028 at California High School and plan on majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve been seeing my hard work pay off, as I’m now on an 18U Gold team, the only freshman on my varsity team and have lowered my pop time to a personal-best 1.66. When I am hitting, my average bat speed has increased to 57 mph with an exit velocity of 68 mph. I carry my hardworking, blue-collar attitude into the classroom where I hold a 3.85 GPA.   In practice I am tireless and dedicated, focusing on the details, learning from my coaches and immediately putting them into practice. Outside of practice, I work on my skills and strengths daily by going to the field, working in the garage, and going to the gym. I also work with my private hitting and catching coaches weekly to keep improving. I enjoy going to softball camps and meeting new people, as well as working with my current teammates and coaches. One of the things I most enjoy is working with younger players, which I do by giving catching lessons.   I started playing softball when I was in 2nd grade, and I knew as soon as I started playing that this was my sport. Playing college softball has been my goal ever since I went to watch my first game at UC Berkeley where the Cal Bears played the Washington Huskies. I am hoping to achieve this goal in the future and can’t wait to see how much I grow throughout high school.   Thank you for your time – I look forward to connecting in the future!
