Evaluations

2027 PG Dillon Easterling from Buckhorn High School (KY) is a solid point guard. I was very impressed with his outside shooting ability from 3 and his pace with the basketball. He has a solid handle and is very good at creating space for himself to get shots up, getting to the basket and finishing around the rim. Dillon has a nice hesitation and attack move, to go with huge confidence in his ball handling, which allows him to score in a multitude of ways. His ability draws a bunch of double teams, and then he makes the right plays finding his open teammates.   Dillon is a very good passer, plays solid defense and is coachable with the capability of being a leader on any team. He has great pace and can be very crafty with the ball to score with fakes, show-and-go and attacks to the basket. He also has a very nice shooting form and touch around the mid-paint area for his floaters. Dillon also handles business off the court holding a 3.6 GPA and will be getting huge minutes on varsity this coming year. Good kid – and a hard worker off the court – who has that “dog” in him. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Dillon

My name is Dillon Easterling, and I am a 2027 guard from Buckhorn High School in Kentucky. During my sophomore year, I was named a 14th Region All-Star, averaging 19.3 points, 5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.7 steals a game. During my freshman year I attended Perry County Central (KY), where I had a 3.1 GPA. My goal during sophomore year was to improve my GPA, and I was able to do that raising it to 3.57. At this time, I am undecided on my college major. I was introduced and fell in love with the sport of basketball at a young age. It never gets old to me. At times it picks you up, other times it knocks you down, but it’s the constant grind and passion that I have for this sport that keeps me going and striving to be the best basketball player I can possibly be.   I truly believe this is the greatest sport ever invented. This game has taught me so much about life and how you get out of it what you’re willing to put into it. I enjoy going to practice, training and working out. Sometimes I don’t feel like being in the gym, but I continue to push myself to get through these things because I know the end result will be worth every second. During the season on days we practice, I spend an additional 2-3 hours before or after practice working on my craft. I work on every aspect of my game from ball handling, shooting, drives, finishes, midrange pull-ups, defense, passing, in-game scenarios, free throws – spending time each day focusing on anything I feel may be a weakness in my game. During the offseason I do 2-3 workouts per day for six days a week. During these workouts I’ll also add in weightlifting and more conditioning.   In my free time I enjoy helping younger players with skills training at the grade school I attended and where my younger brother attends school. I also volunteer as a referee during the Biddy League program.   I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to view my profile. I am dedicated to playing this sport at the next level. I work hard and take pride in making sure each day I work harder than I did the day before. Thanks again and I pray to hear from you in the future.
