Evaluations

2027 PG Dillon Easterling from Buckhorn High School (KY) is a solid point guard. I was very impressed with his outside shooting ability from 3 and his pace with the basketball. He has a solid handle and is very good at creating space for himself to get shots up, getting to the basket and finishing around the rim. Dillon has a nice hesitation and attack move, to go with huge confidence in his ball handling, which allows him to score in a multitude of ways. His ability draws a bunch of double teams, and then he makes the right plays finding his open teammates.   Dillon is a very good passer, plays solid defense and is coachable with the capability of being a leader on any team. He has great pace and can be very crafty with the ball to score with fakes, show-and-go and attacks to the basket. He also has a very nice shooting form and touch around the mid-paint area for his floaters. Dillon also handles business off the court holding a 3.1 GPA and will be getting huge minutes on varsity this coming year. Good kid – and a hard worker off the court – who has that “dog” in him. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Dillon

My name is Dillon Easterling, and I am a 2027 graduate at Buckhorn High School in Kentucky. During my freshman year I attended Perry County Central H.S. (KY), where I had a 3.1 GPA. This year I expect to improve that number and will be taking dual-credit classes to prepare me for college. At this time, I am undecided on my college major. I was introduced to the sport of basketball at a very young age. It never gets old – at times it picks you up, other times it knocks you down, but it’s the constant grind, passion and love that I have for this sport that keeps me going and striving to be the best basketball player I can possibly be.   This is the greatest sport ever invented, and I say sport instead of game because to me it’s not a game it’s my life. I love going to practice; I love training and workout sessions. During the season on days we have practice, I’m in the gym every day for 2-3 hours after practice working on my game with my Dad and my little brother. We have different workouts each day for every part of my game from ball handling, shooting, drives, finishes, midrange pull-ups, defense, passing, in-game scenarios, free throws, etc. I take great pride in my ball handling, and no matter what else we are working on that day I always do ball handling drills. I’ve learned the floor opens so much more when you can handle the basketball and get to whatever spot you need to. During the offseason I do two or three workout sessions daily 5-6 days a week. One session will be 1-2 hours of weightlifting, one session is an hour of conditioning and the other is 2-4 hours of skills training. I enjoy working out with my younger brother and helping him improve his game in hopes that someday he can achieve his goals.   In my free time or before my workouts, I help grade-school players with skills training or whatever the coaching staff needs me to help with on that day. I also volunteer as a referee for the grade school’s biddy league program. I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to view my profile. I am dedicated to playing this sport at the next level. I work hard and take pride in making sure each day I work harder than I did the day before. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you in the future.
