Dawson Griffin

6-foot-2 Dawson Griffin, a 2025 PG from Powell High School (WY), is a true competitor. He is a very strong guard with the mentality and work ethic to play at the next level. He showcased his strong shooting ability from 3-point range and you can tell he works on his shot religiously! The lefty has very nice form, and it’s fun to watch a player with shooting technique and mechanics like his. His court vision is also very good – knows when to find the open player for easy baskets and breaking traps to his teammates.   The one thing I can say about his game is a thing 90% of players in the country do not do, and that is moving without the ball. Dawson knows when to make a cut or find an open spot to free himself up for easy layups or quick catch and shoot 3s. His heart and passion for the game are easily noticeable by how hard he plays on the offensive and defensive ends. This kid takes no plays off! Dawson is also a very strong defender and is good at anticipating the basketball for steals.   He does need to add different finishes around the basket for the next level against bigger, faster and stronger opponents. Also needs to improve his off-the-dribble midrange jumper, which is a foreign thing in today’s game. Overall, he’s a great kid, extremely hardworking and a very consistent player.
