Evaluations

Cole Stuart is a dynamic attacking player who is capable of playing multiple positions. With an eye for goals, Cole can score from various areas of the field – he can strike a ball from distance, get on the end of crosses and take defenders on 1v1. His pace makes him a very dangerous attacker and his ability on the ball makes him a threat in the final third. Cole has experience playing in the highest youth league in Alberta (APDL), and he plays for the Calgary Calvary (CPL) U21 Academy program who were the 2024 Canadian Professional League Champions.   Attending Edge School for Athletes, Cole receives high-level training every day at school around his class time, and he’s a dedicated student in the classroom. Cole would be an incredible addition to any college program who is looking for an attacking player who does not only score goals, but also create goal-scoring opportunities. — Mackenzie Schissel, ScoutU Soccer Scout, Mackenzie@ScoutU.com, 256-283-1160   I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cole Stuart since 2019 and have seen him blossom from a young talent into a very good soccer player. He has a great understanding of the game and this, together with his lightning pace, make him a very dangerous forward.   He is comfortable taking on players 1v1 but also has the ability to strike the ball from distance; with these abilities he makes life very difficult for defenders to mark him. Cole can play anywhere across the front line and is comfortable on both wings and down the middle. He’s been very successful playing at the highest level in Alberta, and I am convinced he will be successful at higher levels as well. Cole has a first-class attitude and work ethic, and I’m sure that these attributes, along with his soccer skills will make him a huge success at the college level. — Alan Rickwood, Director of Soccer, Edge School for Athletes   Cole has been with Calgary Villains since his grassroots days and has become a standout on our APDL High Performance program. I’ve had the privilege of coaching Cole for the last 4 years, and he has continued evolving his game to become a complete player on the pitch. Cole can play at the 7,9 or 10 positions and can find success with his pace and tight ball control. He is most dangerous when there is space in front of him to run into and get beyond players, as he can finish one-on-one or strike a great ball from a distance. — Calvin Campbell, General Manager, Calgary Villians FC

Message from Cole

My name is Cole Stuart, and I am in the 2026 class at Edge School for Athletes in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am currently 5’10” and 160 lbs. My main position is Winger, but I also play Forward and Attacking Mid. My current GPA is 3.7 and I would like to major in Business. I was recently invited to try out for the Canadian Premier League Champions, Calgary Cavalry’s U21 Academy, and I was one of the only 16-year-olds to make the academy.   I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4 and love the game. I am a student of the game with high soccer IQ and really understand the sport from the different positions and perspectives as I’ve played with academies such as Barcelona FC, Villains FC and Calgary Cavalry FC. In Summer 2023 with my Calgary Villains club, we toured Austria, Croatia and Hungary, playing against some of the top 2007/2008 academies. I had personal success scoring half of my team’s goals and was told by the other coaches that I could definitely play at the higher level, which was extremely inspiring.   Recently I was selected for the Cavalry U21 Academy, which is a feeder into their system. The Cavalry is a prestigious organization in the Canadian Professional League and I am very proud to be part of it. I love soccer, and the older players on the Cavalry U21 team have really inspired me to take my game to the next level. While getting a great education and doing well in school is very important to me, I want to take soccer to the highest level I can with a goal of playing professionally.   At school I consistently make the Honor Roll, Principal’s List and earn the Mountaineer Award for Effort. I know what it takes to be a high-level athlete having learned grit, resilience and mental fortitude to continue to excel. I take care of my body through physio, proper diet and regular strength workouts. I am very excited to play soccer at the collegiate level, and I appreciate your time and consideration.
