Evaluations

5-foot-10, 150 pounds. R/R. RHP/1B/3B. Strikeout pitcher with swing-and-miss stuff (341 K in 191 IP, 0.91 ERA during 2024 club, sometimes playing up to 18U and 16U as a 14U-age player). Fastball sits at 58-59 mph and touches 61 mph with excellent spin (1,342 spin). Doesn’t throw fastball often if riseball, curveball and changeup are working well. Best pitch is riseball (55.3 mph, late rise, high strike or just above strike zone). Curveball (59 mph) cuts away from righties and tails late. 2-seam has similar curve than curveball but faster (56.4 mph) with excellent spin (1,427). Works changeup (49 mph, 1,019 spin) on outside corners, can throw in dirt or for strikes (working on not slowing down her pitching motion). Working on adding a dropball. Good leg drive, drag and gets off rubber quick. Fierce competitor. Digs deep when tired and gets out of tough situations. At the plate, No. 4 hitter. Rarely strikes out (10K in 217 PA during 2024 club). Contract/line-drive hitter with occasional home run. Generates power with legs and hips. Working on a better extension, finish and follow through. Strong work ethic (2-3 lessons a week, does at-home pitching drills, 2-3 weight-lifting sessions a week). Leader. Very good teammate (supports other, positive attitude). Outstanding student (4.0 GPA). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com   Charlotte is very athletic, excelling in each sport which she plays. When she isn’t practicing or playing softball, she can be found at Blaze, a sports and fitness facility geared at training the whole athlete, from mental to physical. Charlotte ensures her body is strong enough to endure the demands of being a dedicated athlete. Her stature is a combination of DNA and hard work, earning Charlotte the edge against her competition. She is tall, strong and fit. She has good body awareness and can apply improvements to her pitching motion with relative ease. Her strength lies in her ability to create power from the ground up through her body and out into the ball. By generating power, she has a quick, explosive leg drive and stride off the rubber. Her firm front side provides resistance to her pitch allowing for maximum speed transfer to the ball. Fundamental drill work, impressive arm speed, and an internal rotation style of pitching have all paved the path for continued, marked speed and accuracy development. She is a smart pitcher, capable of calling her own pitches. When paired with a good catcher, Charlotte is very dominant, even when playing/pitching up in age.   Charlotte demands a lot of herself. Sometimes in lessons she can be seen getting mildly annoyed that the pitch she just threw didn’t work as she wanted it to. However, rather than sulking, she comes right back with even more focus and intent to get the next pitch to work. Mental game strength can always be improved upon and will continue to grow throughout her high school career. Developing a more consistent, well disguised changeup is a point of emphasis, and will be until she feels confident with one. Tightening up spin on each pitch and creating late breaking sharp movement are also areas of improvement.   She has great mound presence and is very poised and confident. She is highly competitive, often throwing the knockout punch when her team needs her most. Charlotte puts her body on the line for her team, pitching the bulk of innings each game and tournament. She is a good teammate, always inspiring others, and asking for their best efforts. Charlotte is very coachable, especially after a relationship is established. I have worked with her for 3 years and have seen so much growth in her. She has matured into a well spoken, friendly young lady who shows appreciation for those who are a part of her journey, including her parents, coaches and teammates. Her teammates often reap the benefits of Charlotte’s unseen hard work, but they are also just as blessed to have her as a friend. After games, she can be seen taking individual pictures with several of her friends/teammates. They form a great bond with her as she is just so likeable! Her work ethic is beyond her years, I often tell her to take a break, take time off, but she just looks at me like I am crazy for suggesting it. Her parents are dedicated to providing opportunities for Charlotte to reach her highest potential for her ultimate goal of being a dominant collegiate student-athlete at the highest level. — Linnea Utecht, Pitching Coach/Owner, Nucleus Pitching Academy

Message from Charlotte

My name is Charlotte Radtke, and I am a 2028 from Appleton North High School in Wisconsin. In the classroom, I hold a 4.0 GPA. At 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds, my primary position is pitcher while I also play first base. I am very proud of my pitching spin that sets me apart from my peers. My personal best was 1,427 RPM on my 2-seam. I have four pitches with a spin rate of 1,293 or higher. My fastball sits at 58-59 mph and tops at 61 mph. During my 2024 club season, I had a 0.91 ERA with 341 strikeouts in 191 innings.   I am a multi-sport athlete and place a high value on academics, taking advanced math courses, and I plan to add more AP courses throughout high school. I plan to study law and my ultimate goal is to become a judge. I practice and workout year round, seeing two pitching coaches each week, doing drills at home that focus on snap and spin, workout with a weight trainer several times per week and see a hitting coach at least once per week. I am driven and highly focused on becoming a collegiate athlete, and I’m very thankful for all the support I have from my parents and coaches. I take pride in being a leader and encouraging others to be their best.   Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and I appreciate your consideration.
