Evaluations

5-foot-10, 160 pounds C/1B. R/R. At the plate, hits No. 3 for high school team and is a run-producer. Has power potential with 73 mph exit and 21.4 mph peak hand speed. Good patience at the plate with pitch selection (.480 OBP as sophomore). Consistent swing that stays on plane through the zone (75% on-plane). Keeps hand back, waits on changeups. Hits oppo more than pull. Working on keeping hands in spot she wants more consistently to get even more consistent results. At catcher, has 1.77 pop with 60 mph overhand. Excellent at framing with subtle movements and starting lower in the zone and meeting the ball where it’s pitched. Blocks well with good lateral movement and scooping balls effectively. Throws to all bases with accuracy. Working to improve arm strength by doing arm strength training. At 1B, a tall target to get errant throws. Solid at scooping. Working to improve flexibility for stretches. Leader on and off the field. Strong work ethic (gets hitting lessons, does speed/agility training and does workouts/practice on own time). Solid student (3.4 GPA). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com   Casey Navarro is one of the most talented and hardworking catchers that I have had the pleasure of coaching in the past 30 years. She has excellent skills both offensively and defensively.  As a sophomore, she led our varsity team batting over .400, while totaling 3 home runs and 35 hits in 27 games.   Defensively, she can play several positions well. She primarily caught for us this past season, but can play both corner infield positions at a high level. Casey also has played outfield for her club team. She is always looking for ways to improve herself as a player. She has high expectations and goals for herself. Casey is very motivated to become the best player she can be. She has a passion for the game that many players cannot match. Casey is a wonderful young lady to be around and is a leader on and off the field. Many young players in our program and club look up to Casey, and she will be a great addition to any college program who will gain a talented and amazing person. — Scott Graf, Kettle Moraine H.S. Head Coach

Message from Casey

My name is Casey Navarro. I am a 5 foot-10, 160-pound catcher at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, WI. My secondary positions are first base and outfield. When behind the plate, I stick out from others with my arm strength (60 mph) and pop time (1.73). When at the plate, I am consistently on base and bringing in runners. I am solid at hitting fast hard-hit line drives in the gaps (73 mph exit velo, 0.13 time to contact). I am ranked No. 30 for the class of 2025 by Showtime Sports Camps and received All-Conference Honorable Mention catcher in the Division 1 Classic 8 for my freshman and sophomore years. I also was named Rookie of the Year as a freshman and Best Hitter as a sophomore (.407 BA with a 1.038 OPS).   I am constantly working to get better at my sport. I work out with trainers at Next Level Training each week to gain strength and speed. I also see a hitting and catching coach at least once a week to work on my hitting and fine tuning all aspects of catching. I usually do not stop there. You can always find me at home hitting extra balls to become more confident at the plate. I am very involved in the Kettle Moraine Junior Laser Fastpitch program. I help out teams with practice and with their annual tournament. Helping the youth players is one of the most rewarding things I do. Hearing players say, “I am gonna hit like Navarro!” and getting so excited to come and watch me play is definitely why I try so hard each time I hit the dirt. I am also involved in Best Buddies. Each school year, I am paired up with another student with a disability and we are buddies for the whole year. They are some of my biggest fans at a game!   Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I look forward to talking with you about your program!
