Evaluations

2025 Lefty PG Bryce Cahill is a true competitor. After watching him play, he has great pace and a great motor that you just can’t teach. He is very good at using his body and controlling the game with his tempo. He does not get sped up and has a great feel for the game. Bryce has leadership qualities about him and is a winner. Very good at getting to the basket and finishing in different ways. He can definitely handle the ball well.   Bryce is also a very good passer and a menace on defense – locks up his defenders and plays with heart. Rarely does he make mistakes or turn the ball over. As a point guard, this is the type of player a coach would love to have in their program. He is coachable and catches on to things on the fly. Will go inside and grab rebounds and push the tempo for his team. Bryce could easily go off for 30 points in any given game. He is more about winning than dropping 30 and losing. He does need to improve in shooting consistency, but he’s got great shooting form and can knock down a catch-and-shoot 3 or a pull-up jumper here and there. His game is being a point guard, with tempo and pace to get to the basket finishing strong, defense and running the show. Bryce also handles his business off the court with a 3.7 GPA. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Bryce

My name is Bryce Cahill, and I am a senior at Licking Heights H.S. in Blacklick, Ohio. Standing 5-10 and weighing 145 pounds, I have made a name for myself on the basketball court as a point guard (16 points/game in AAU), demonstrating that both talent and tenacity can drive success.   With a 3.7 GPA and 24 ACT score, I pride myself on my dedication to academics. I’ve always had a strength in math, being recognized at a young age for my superior cognitive abilities in this area. My commitment in the classroom earned me a spot on the Honor Roll throughout my high school career. Although I am currently undecided about my college major, I am exploring options in business, accounting, and sports management.   Leadership is an essential part of who I am. As the oldest of three siblings, I take pride in setting a positive example for my younger brothers. This responsibility extends beyond my family and into my school and community. I was honored to be selected for my school’s mentor program, “Boys Won’t Just Be Boys,” where I work with middle school boys who need guidance and a strong role model. I’m also passionate about giving back through basketball. I volunteer with the school’s youth basketball program, coaching young athletes, keeping the book and running the clock during games. These experiences have allowed me to connect with younger players and share my knowledge.   My journey as an athlete has been shaped by challenges. At 5-10, I’ve faced my share of doubters, but I’ve learned how to use my size to my advantage. This has taught me to play intelligently, adapt to different situations and focus on my strengths. I love proving people wrong and showing that heart and hard work matter more than physical size. I pride myself on being highly coachable and intrinsically motivated. I actively seek opportunities to improve, training regularly with my coaches outside of practice. My work ethic and determination drive me to grow as both a player and a person.   I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. My combination of academic achievement, athletic skill and leadership experience has prepared me for success both on and off the court. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I am eager to see what the future holds and look forward to connecting with you.
