Evaluations

5-foot-10, 145 pounds. Discus/shot put/javelin. Track and field is her passion, even gets 4 hours of training from college coaches and ex-Olympians at the University of Minnesota every Sunday. Has been throwing since 5th grade. Dad also is a throwing coach and threw in college. Consistent and good discus form (122-4). 29-10.75 shot put — working on a better release; when does have a good release, can throw 35 feet in practice. Solid form in javelin, but doesn’t have a lot of experience or coaching in that event yet. Working on improving overall strength with weight training. Very coachable. Critiques herself. Great teammate. Leader. Very goal-oriented (wants to compete in Olympics). Very good student (3.3 GPA; taking mainly AP courses.). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com

Message from Avery

My name is Avery Fullerton-Anderson, and I am a 2026 from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota. I stand 5-foot-10, throwing discus (122-4), shot put (29-10.75) and javelin (79-8.75). I have an unweighted GPA of 3.3, and I plan on majoring in criminal justice or legal studies.   I’m not just an athlete when the time comes for practices or meets – I love track and field. I go to extra preseason practices for 3 months before the season with my high school team. I also devote 4 hours almost every Sunday at the University of Minnesota indoor track, working with Throw North, a group with college coaches and ex-Olympians. I also work out at the gym at least two times a week and strive to run a few miles each week.   But I don’t just show up. I’m always the first to practice and the last to leave. I have the most energy at every practice, as I love hyping up my teammates. There’s truly something special in having supportive teammates. I believe that increases every athlete’s potential. I strive to better my teammates in this way as well — bringing snacks, playing music, being the loudest cheerer, staying late to coach my teammate or giving non-track advice and support. I love my teammates, and they push me to constantly keep improving. That is my own personal goal. I want to be in the next Olympics. And if not, I will be in the one after that. I work hard, and I am constantly improving. This is because I am coachable, I listen, and I always ask good technical questions. I don’t just want to be better – I want to understand more about the sport I love.   I am currently taking five AP classes and plan on having 13 by the end of my senior year. I am also involved in DECA business club, BPA business club and Mock Trial (I’ve made it to state for all three of them). I’m also an active volunteer, as I ring bells, run bingo at memory care facilities, help out at community events and work in charity stores such as IOCP.   Thank you for your time. I appreciate your communication and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you!
